Should we have to ask someone before we kiss them so as to negate claims of sexual harrassment?

Permission denied!
There's a difference between kissing someone with whom you are "dating" and grabbing someone you may only "know".

Yes, but what about kissing someone you are not already dating, without grabbing them?

We are not always gonna know if it is acceptable are we, I think it should be a restraint on the person who wishes to do the kissing of someone just in case it isn't acceptable rather than asking if it is OK. It would save embarrassment IMHO. Just reserve the greeting for someone you do know and know it will be taken the way it is meant.
The are plenty of other ways to greet without getting to up close and personal.

I've always thought it to be somewhat of an oxymoron, that being given permission; is actually not being given permission........as in:
"May I kiss you"......................."Kiss My A***"............."I didn't ask to kiss your A***................but I'll take that as a No then".![]()

I find it slightly creepy when you are introduced to someone you have never met before that they grab you in a bear hug & plant a kiss on each cheek, what's that all about whatever happened to the handshake?.

I have probably lost count of the number of times a friend has spoken of their disgust at receiving an unwelcome slobby kiss.

What's wrong with just greeting somebody with a firm handshake? At least that way you can't be accused of sexual harrassment.

This is not about greetings it's about kissing someone you fancy, on a first date for example, should you have to ask first or should it be spontaneous? Have we read the article?
In my time I've never had to ask a girl if I could kiss them and I've never been left embarrassed either, all done on body language and instinct, besides they were all begging for it! ![]()

Hmmm i think it is quite sweet when someone ,even if your dating asks you if its ok to kiss you. I have had a man ask my permission to do things and i thought it was lovely. I do NOT like being grabbed by a total stranger or someone i have met for the first time and kissed!!!, even on the cheek. Its a handshake and KEEP OUT OF MY SPACE!!!!!. This is where sexual harrassment CAN start,,, by people doing things to you that they should not be doing when its not the appropriate situation and its not WANTED!!!!!.
