I thought terra Cotta apples were perceived as safe way of feeding for smaller birds because it is enclosed and they are shrouded from overhead larger predators? My understanding is that most birds source nesting material at ground level so maybe they are a little disappointed to find "fluff" instead of "grub"? :^O
I didn't think of putting out tumble drier fluff (of which I have that much I could open a pillow stuffing industry) - what a great suggestion! Thank you!
