And what is wrong with wanting to be appreciated, especially when you spend a fortune, and lavish a gift.
Or is ingratitude, to be expected.
If I recieve a gift, I thank the giver profusely for thinking of me. A gift is not mandatory it should never be recieved in such an offhand manner.
As for sounding like she wanted to be praised, well to me it sounded only that a nice smile, a look of appreciation, and a thank-you was what was wanted, and definitely should have been proffered, at the very least..
