Hi guys,
I was just having a small thought about the 1974 Munchen World Cup Album.
I have noticed that all world cup albums issued by Panini are named after the host country
Mexico 70, Spain 82, Italia 90, France 98 etc etc
But why was the 1974 album not printed as Germany 1974? Was it because of the East/West Germany factor?
Any updates on this matter would be appreciated 🙂
Cheers,
Ian

I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I believe it was because the tournament started and ended in Munich and the organisers wanted to concentrate the marketing on this. As there was still a West and East Germany at the time this meant that the focus was switched more towards a city rather than a 'divided' country.
Regards,
Ian
