Hi, I am stopping selling as I can no longer use postage stamps on my letters and parcels. I've been on ebay since 2001. Will this policy ever be reversed? I sell mainly banknotes, but also stamps too sometimes. Collectors appreciate stamps on their purchases, and I have a large quantity of stamps I want to use up.

‘Simple’(!) Delivery is making things more complex, time-consuming and complicated for private sellers, who already have the most efficient and adequate method worked out for sending their items, to suit their own lifestyle, location and circumstances.
We wish to retain this one little piece of autonomy (choosing where, what and how we arrange delivery) – now, even that is being removed from us. Simple Delivery should be optional, not enforced on us.
I will not be spending any money on ebay for the foreseeable future and have paused my listings, due to imposition of ‘Simple’ Delivery mandatory policy change – and (from messages on these boards, social media and forums elsewhere), it seems I am not the only one. Private sellers are delisting and defecting to other selling platforms. If these actions are a reflection of the general trend, then ebay UK have a problem.
Losing private sellers will mean less options for private buyers; less buyers will then affect business sellers.
My question is:
Are management worried or concerned about this?
Hi @debbidooda ,
I understand where you are coming from on the points you have raised. This is a new programme and feedback on the user experience is shared with our teams within eBay. There have been changes implemented due to feedback such as courier preference and other changes planned such as collection and bring a label service.
We will continue to share the discussions happening here and points raised for future enhancements to the service.
Thank you,
Kat

Hello
is the missing 2-10 kg weight option going to be added soon as without it if your parcel is over 2kg you are quoted the up to 15kg price
which is c £4 dearer at least for Royal Mail - they have 2-10 (and then 10-20
so sending a 3kg parcel is the up to 20kg RM price
I’ll stop there before it gets more confusing lol
many thanks in advance
ps or is it if we use a size/weight label ebay have “recommended” eg 2kg eBay will pick up the tab for the rest? Can see people posting lots of heavy books for just 3.45 because eBay recommended the size 🤷🏼

As I posted yesterday in a thread:
According to the message which eBay sent out last month, "Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money."
The latter part is a provably false statement, insofar as the only two options offered for SD - Evri and Royal Mail - are both more expensive than Yodel, which has been the carrier I've used in the main for the past year or more. The vast majority of my parcels are under 1Kg, and cost £2.69 via Yodel - as opposed to £2.94 with Evri.
To encourage buyers I list everything with 'Free postage', which I incorporate into my start price - so how does increasing that cost by 10% "save me money"?
Likewise, some items fall into 'Large Letter' rate with Royal Mail, and can be sent for £1.80 or £2.20, dependant on weight - but with SD, if that exceeds 100g, I am not provided with that option.
Again, how does increasing that cost "save me money"?

Please can you explain why there is no accountability for the state things are in for private sellers . Why is evri the main carrier option given to sellers. We have had SD forced on us and even after time to prepare in advance why are things more confusing than they used to be.
Thank you.

For future updates,
can the simple delivery be scraped and go back to how it was - I.E. working correctly.
can the fees go back to how it was for sellers - it worked correctly
To charge a buyer extra to purchase an item is insane - this is why so many people are leaving the platform,
this makes no business sense for ebay - its just giving a bad reputaion and a bad taste in everyones mouths - and unfortunatly you guys take the brunt of it all and its not fair on you.

This should also have size options as you can see only one is available.
Thanks for your reply, iansims.
Could you please confirm the kind of item you're trying to list and its rough dimensions please?
Thanks for that,
Marco

I've seen a post in the forums today where a user says Royal Mail 48 Tracked is now listed as without compensation.
As this was one of the services advertised for Standard Simple Delivery could this be confirmed please?

Hi @sinbinthecat_sinbadthecat ,
I appreciate that this is not what you want to hear but right now we don't have any confirmation that Simple Delivery will be reversed. If that was to change an update would be provided on the community.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi edwardian-dreams, thanks for your question.
We have no confirmation of this as of now, but this is something that could potentially change. If it does, you will see it reflected in your listing flow.
Thank you,
Marco

Please give one example where there is a 20% saving in simple delivery postage costs for the buyer/seller? Thank you.
The saving of 20% on postage compares the average Simple Delivery and non Simple Delivery Buyer postage label cost savings data on eBay from Oct 2024 to March 2025.
Thanks,
Dave

If I use simple delivery to send an item using EVRI and the item is on the list of ones they do not pay compensation for. If it is damaged will eBay pay me for the item, and refund the customer? I’m mainly thinking about ceramic items.

Hi @andyf117 ,
The information regarding saving money on potage is based on savings data on eBay from Oct 2024 to March 2025. With your examples showing options as more expensive I will share these details with our relevant team. While I cannot guarantee a change they will be shared for review.
Thank you,

Hi @dantwocats ,
All feedback is shared. It doesn't guarantee processes will be changed but it does get reviewed.

Hi andha-21, thanks for your post.
With Simple Delivery, if an item is lost or damaged in transit, eBay offers automatic protection and an easier claims process, so you won't have to worry about compensation in those scenarios.
Thank you,
Marco
