you don't have to use the send offer option, it is a voluntary extra!

if you don't want to see which item are eligible go to your active listings page, open up the 'quick filters' by clicking on the little arrow

 unhighlight 'send offers eligible'

then close the quick filters

you will then never know that the option is available

Thanks I never knew I could do that

How do you stop instant payment being forced on buyers of BINs. We have the setting unticked but still have buyers complaining that they can't buy without having to pay straight away. Am I missing some other setting as I can't find it? I've even tried it out myself between our two ids and can't buy without being forced to pay immediately. Some buyers do manage it but others just can't.

We have combined payments allowed in postage settings and require instant payment unticked on the listing form. Is there something else?

Hi @rainbowtrax ,

From what you are explaining  you have the correct options unticked so it is unusual for this to be happening.  Some buyers can be forced to pay when they have a previous history of unpaid items.

Is it possible that you have any business/payment policy set on your account for BIN that could be overiding?

Thank you,

Kat

Hi,

Can you please remove the 'Send Offer' feature for private sellers or add a feature where it can be disabled as I've noticed it stifles potential sales? Most watchers I send them to stop watching the items after I send them an offer.

Hi @cobwebs.and.clutter ,

Thank you for this. I'll pass on the feedback to the relevant team to see if it's a change they can review.

Thank you,

Kat

Hi @4ponyandrider ,

I do want to let you know we are aware of the experiences of sellers with the EDD dates and we are taking them on board. All  relevant examples are being fed back to the shipping team. We continue to monitor the current threads on this topic and keep updating the team with them.

I will include your example in the current feedback.

Thank you,

Kat

No, we don't use business policies so it's not that. If I use this account to attempt a dummy purchase from our other account, rainbowjam, I can't commit to buy without being forced to pay instantly.

Last week we had an irate customer who refused to believe that our account was set up correctly as he had this issue. He phoned ebay multiple times and was constantly told that it was us at fault. I even sent him screenshots of our settings but he refused to believe that it wasn't an error on our side because ebay had told him it wasn't him so it must be us. In the end he threw his toys out of the pram and went away without buying but it's hugely frustrating.

This has been a problem for years but seems to be completely random. I'd hoped that Managed Payments might sort the issue but it still persists. On this account, I've sold several things recently where instant payment wasn't enforced so I know it can work but on our rainbowjam account it seems completely broken at the moment. Can this be looked into please.

Hi,

I received an email on the 29th April stating promoted listings standard fees would be changing as of today and would now be based upon the total amount of the sale including shipping. I offer free shipping but if an item is sold via the GSP it could be say £30.00 to ship to the UISA for example. Does that mean I would get charged a % of the £30.00? It also states that due to this an estimate of fees could no longer be provided yet as of 5 mins ago estimates are still being shown

Thx

Hi @ziggy_2015 ,

No you would not be charged a % of the £30 as the money for this would go directly to GSP and not yourself. If your domestic postage was not free you would be charged a % of this along with the item price.

As the change is only taking effect from today the system will take some time to update and no longer show the estimates.

Thank you,

Kat

Hi @rainbowtrax ,

I have looked into this further.  For single-quantity fixed price items buyers are taken directly to the "immediate pay" screen if the item price is under £350 for business sellers.  While I apprieciate it doesn't fit every buyer situation alot of sellers have requested to have immediate payment over the years to avoid the issue of unpaid item cases.

Thank you,

Kat

The eBay Official Packaging Shop has precisely zero cardboard boxes for sale today.

We can only use our vouchers to buy plastic single-use mailing bags.

The picture at the top of the eBay packaging store page shows a large selection of cardboard boxes - which used to be offered by a previous official packaging supplier.  But this one has gradually withdrawn all the sizes - and the last one vanished at lunchtime today.

Is it really fair to withdraw the only totally and easily recyclable option (cardboard) and replace it with single-use plastics?

Hi @bravergrace ,

Thank you for bring this to our attention. I'm going to look into this one with the shipping team and I will get back to you as soon as I get more information from them.

Thank you,

Kat

Hi @bravergrace ,

I have had an update from the shipping team on this. They have advised that the card board boxes will come back into stock this week.  We have also confirmed the mailing bags are 100% recyclable and are FSC® certified.

Thank you,

Kat

Hi @pixiesen2012 ,

Just wanted to update you that I am still following up on this. I have given the examples to the relevant team who are looking into it.

Once I have any further updates or information I will post back.

Thank you,

Kat
