buyer bought and item of mine
I printed a shipping label (Royal Mail)
buyer contacted me and said he's changed his mind, please cancel order for full refund and don't send
I tried cancelling shipping label but ebay just returns a message
"you cannot cancel this order as it was ordered via the simple shipping service"
what happens, will I get my money back for the label, and if not why should sellers have to forfeit the cost of postage because I buyer changes their mind at the last minute?
Thanks

As advised, you can't cancel a SD label.
I can't see any sold items where you offered 'free postage/seller pays' so the buyer pays the advertised postage direct to Ebay and Ebay supply you with a label that you don't have to pay for.
So, the postage payment has not been through your account and Ebay will refund it direct to the buyer.

okay, appreciated, thanks for explaining that, I guess all is well them and I am not out of pocket as the seller despite printing a label before the buyer asked me to cancel the order
