my customer has contacted me and said that when the driver delivered the item he threw it on the ground and when she opened she found it damaged, is this a claim the customer should deal with ?

Buyer opens a Not as described case Arrived Damaged. It is very important that Arrived Damaged is used.
Ebay should then deal with the claim not you. You keep the money, buyer gets refund from ebay.

As a business seller this is for you to deal with. the buyer should open a claim for arrived damaged as stated but you would issue a return label and refund on return, then raise a claim with your carrier for compensation
