Did you open a Not as described return case, if so seller cannot refuse. If seller does nothing on day 4 you escslate to ebay.
Why don’t you use the money back guarantee properly?

Ignore the seller's excuses if you have received a faulty item and you're still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery, message the seller no more, just proceed this way.....
right of the item in your Purchase History and frGoom More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.
The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund, if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. If they don't , need to escalate the case, ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.
Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early, and do not forget to escalate.

Thank you for your reply. When I received the item, I tested it immediately and started the return process. However, I mistakenly selected the wrong reason not fit. Because of this, the seller rejected the return request.
I contacted eBay, and they advised me to reach out to the seller directly. I did so, but the seller has not accepted my explanation of the mistake. At this point, I have not received any help from eBay, and I no longer have the option to request a return.
Could you please advise me on what I can do next?

I'm sorry but opening the wrong case , you cannot open another for this item for this reason, that the item is faulty.
You'll need to turn to your payment provider for help with your refund.

No point in contacting ebay you only get one chance and you opened the wrong sort of return.
How did you pay, it is the payment provider you have to contact now hoping they can start a chargeback,
