Probably why one of the books I ordered from Amazon were left out in the pouring rain - returned for a replacement, and hey presto, that replacement was left outdoors as well, in the rain.
At least with Royal Mail they used to leave at the delivery office in the dry, but the recent trend { since Covid era} for dumping stuff on the doorstep is really not good.
However, It does depend on the driver.
Some Evri/Amazon couriers do knock rather than dump and run, and one kind driver helped carry a heavy item into the house.

Funny then how my amazon deliveries always turn up on time - usually a day or 2 early - but everything else that comes via evri is very hit & miss.
Today received an Amazon delivery - hooray - then I looked at the label and it wasn't for us ! We delivered for Amazon straight away - of course the Amazon customer will be happy with the Amazon delivery service - left on their door step - they will be non the wiser !
Just before xmas we ordered two items from the same supplier - one was delivered on time by RM - the other was dispatched via evri - the tracking showed Evri was awaiting the parcel.
Two emails and two phone calls to the supplier - each responded with Evri had the parcel and to give it a week then ring them back.
8 days later the package was delivered by Royal Mail !
It wasn't Evri - they were being honest - the supplier had popped the Evri labelled parcel in the Royal Mail sack and blamed Evri !
Evri was giving honest information in a timely fashion.
RM exceptionally undertook the delivery with the Evri label and out of goodwill waived the £7 charge.
Top marks to both Evri and RM

ebay doesn't own part of Evri. DHL invested in Evri not that long ago, but not ebay.

Who ever owns Evri should be concerned as i am sure that Evri is giving them a bad name, and i would think that eBay should be concerned with the incompetence of Evri.
Example: i was given a delivery date by Evri, i did not arrive. The delivery date was then amended to the following day - The package arrived but not to me, it was delivered to another address near to me. I would not have known about the delivery except the lady from the wrong address was kind enough to bring it around to me.

It was mainly the other way round although DHL Group do now own a minority stake in Evri in return for Evri's acquisition of DHL eCommerce UK.

Another problem is ebay moved to working on co-ordinated lunar time and its caused havoc with their systems.
Oh wait - that's not true - but then neither is the statement that ebay owns part of Evri.

Evri are appalling.
I had a 'click and collect' item be bounced back to the seller immediately [ 'Simple delivery']
Ebay refunded me , but a week later, the seller sent me a message asking if I'd received the item!
I'd left her positive feedback saying ''good communication but that Evri had lost the item which wasn't seller's fault.
I assumed she too would have been protected by ''Simple delivery''...seems not!
It really isn't good enough.
I saw an Evri delivery driver hurling parcels into the pavement out of the back of a battered van- he seemed angry and frustrated, but it didn't bode well for any fragile items.
Evri allegedly pay their drivers peanuts as well.

I have had items stolen, repackaged and the sender told the item was damaged. I am currently waiting for 3 items with no updates for days. eBay shouldn't use them any longer. One of the items is from M&S and I have complained bitterly to them about changing their courier. They are absolutely shocking.
Does anyone from ebay Customer Services pay attention??

Swap all your listing to Royal Mail so bypassing Evri, they have to be the worst courier in the UK.

Not sure about evri killing ebay - they're certainly killing my trust in evri - they picked up a qvc return 19 days ago & according to evri's tracking it's "still on it's way back".
Crummy doesn't even begin to describe some o these delivery firms.

I agree. And EVRI is not only killing Ebay but also a now a detriment to Amazon. Shoddy service, items left in public, on pathways, photo of a fence which could be anywhere. Appalling business, the most complained about by a mile. They continually lie about attempting delivery too. The only way to resolve this is to query the 'other courier' with the seller and do not buy if it is EVRI and tell the seller exactly why. Also i have cancelled many items when i discover it is EVRI. Mind you EBAY have now turned into a bank basically, holding sellers money, charging the 'protection fee' which just adds to their bottom line and now trying to steamroll sellers into using EVRI by the postage options and silly QR codes. I use EBAY and Amazon way less than I used to. I mean who needs the hassle and trying to chase refunds for undelivered / stolen items.

evri is back to supplying fake photos as proof of delivery in my area of nottingham.
picture of a brick wall,an unumbered door bottom etc.
even though my address is for a residential caravan on a park.(there are no walls n doors etc,its a caravan)
ive lost at least 3 parcels in this last week to this scam.
evri used to be good hereabouts, but it seems the good trustworthy courier hass been replaced etc.
no more sellers using evri ever again.

Heart dropped when I saw was shipped by Evri.
For two weeks now given the runaround, allegedly tried to deliver three times... well of course they didn't even try once. Not one other delivery company gives me any trouble.
Now I am thinking of quitting eBay because I can't continue like this (1 out of 9 deliveries arrived in the last year, and driver was literally very aggressive). The rest every excuse on earth, they can't even deliver to a collection point.
Usually avoid evri sellers but is getting harder. You used to be able to see the ebay delivery provider, but that is now not working.
Absolutely sick to the teeth and genuinely puzzled why eBay still users them.
The are beyond terrible, because where do all these "lost" or failed delivery parcels end up???? We aren't talking one or two here.
Also trying to contact them is impossible, left a 50 pound camera outside a main street by a door in the pouring rain, stolen... when I complained automated email saying I would get a call back... never did... just lies upon lies.

That option isn’t always available.
Even if it is then Evri can manage to feck it up.
I asked for a parcel to be delivered to my closest parcel shop, some 7 miles away in a direction I rarely go. I went to collect after being notified that the parcel was waiting for me (this was about 10 days after it was posted). It wasn’t there! A week later I was notified that the parcel was being returned to the sender! I waited over 2 weeks and never got my item.
I have recently been shopping on a Chinese online shop… they mostly use evri, about 20 % of parcels never make it at all and another 10 % get dropped by a neighbours house.
Thankfully the Chinese know how to treat customers and ALWAYS refund without question. I don’t know how they make any money!
I rarely use ebay now.
