why is ebay so dead?

what is going on with ebay? ive not had a sale in weeks despite tweaking my listings and basically doing everything you can think of? people on the facebook groups are all saying the same. we all know its ebay restricting our sales, but for what reason? for example i have a listing with 10 watchers on, i sent out a £30 reduction and nothing? so why are these people watching if they have no interest? im promoting and sending out offers every day, but not a bean. anyone else?

Ebay is so dead because they have messed it up for buyers and sellers.

Do we know eBay are restricting our sales?

re the item you discounted maybe £30 off still isn’t enough to tempt people, or it could be the wrong time of year, it’s middle of the month, most sales tend to occur payday so perhaps try an offer then?

Normally when you have a lot of watchers on something you can bet there is a portion of those who are just interested in what you manage to sell yours for as they have one to sell themselves. They are never going to buy the item but they do no harm, as having a lot of watchers is a good indicator to real buyers that your item is in demand and it might eventually help it sell.

There will be a portion of other sellers who are also watching and would snipe it if you crack and reduce the price to an irresistible level where they know they can re-sell it. I get offers a fair bit, annoyingly when I’m not even a watcher but because I clicked on something twice and often think that’s a great price but it’s wasted sending that offer to me…

I wouldn’t get too disheartened when you send big discounts and get crickets if you’ve done your research and know you’re pricing in the right ball park. It all depends on the item so buyers are quite savvy now, if there are lots of the same on eBay and they don’t need it urgently they will sometimes wait for someone else to run theirs on auction with a low start bid and pick it up a lot cheaper. That’s where you can use eBay solds data to decide on the right strategy for selling the item. If it very rarely sells sometimes you have to be brutal and sit as the lowest price offering and let the once in a blue moon buyer take yours on the cheap over the sellers who are rigidly holding out for a high price that they are never going to get.
