'Cannot recall exactly but Evri were happy to deliver when item sold on Vinted,'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh I see.
If Evri were happy with it before, I see no reason for Evri to get shirty about it this time. Musta been another ebay induced hissy-fit....😒

"f Evri were happy with it before, I see no reason for Evri to get shirty about it this time."
Evri wasn't the problem - eBay would not allow Evri as an option (it was greyed out) only Royal Mail, which had a max length or around 65cm when item was 93cm.

Yeah, that's what I meant (perhaps not quite clearly enough!) by it being an ebay induced problem...😊

You say that it is making your business unviable but Simple Delivery is only for Private Sellers (those getting rid of unwanted personal possessions) not Business Sellers.

I haven’t sold on eBay for a while but have 501 stars and 100% feedback. Why have they introduced Simple postage? It’s not simple. It has charged too little for my item. I want to be in control of my own delivery options/prices but this is now compulsory. Grrr. Will have to stop selling on eBay. The whole world is becoming a nanny state.

When I offer free delivery—usually Tracked 48, since my items are nearly always Small Parcels or largish Large Letters—I also offer Tracked 24 for just the difference (well, a rounded £1), not the full cost, since that is the extra it will cost me. (None have been converted to 'Simple' Delivery yet.) With SD, the buyer pays the full cost if they choose Express delivery, not just the extra: that’s not a great service to them, is it? For once, eBay being anti-buyer.

So totally not viable to do, then? Have to bulk up original sale price to cover packaging and shortfall in SD calculations? Love that they call this Simple!!🤷♀️😳

got to laugh😁: One of my listings hadn't updated to Simple Delivery, so I couldn't get a free collection from Royal Mail - which does seem to be working now... The free RM collection is useful for me.

You can still get free collection from Royal Mail for items that haven't been updated to SD, if you buy the postage through eBay. Unless this has changed in the last couple of weeks?
You do have to pay a collection fee if you book directly with Royal Mail online.

I couldn't see an option and last time I tried I thought I was charged 30p, or rather the 30p charge popped up and I didn't opt for it (of course I might be wrong about that, brain does not always remember correctly! 😁)
think everything else I have listed is now SD so no longer relevant

but otherwise it is a nightmare. You would need to cancel the orders and
start again. You have to wait for refunds then.

Same here. Ebay said to send anyway and they have an arrangement with Royal Mail to accept them. They assured me will not get charged by Royal Mail. Po pointed out it was not right we said Ebay will sort it out and they took it. Due to be delivered today so will see what happens!

They told me the same that it would be accepted, but my parcel was way over the weight, they said send anyway but I was told any extra costs plus a penalty would be taken from my account. Eventually they issued me with another label that covered the correct weight. Not sure why they "fixed" something that wasn't broken except for them to make more money.

But how do you end up with items over weight? You select the weight category.
I checked everything as it automatically changed - miraculously they were all correct.
I have taken to listing at 2kg small parcel, as now same as 1kg, in case someone wants to buy 2 items and I can combine, because I'm not at all sure how combined postage works, indeed if it does, with SD - and anyway if someone puts in an offer on a couple of items they end up as separate sales.
I think it has improved and the free Royal Mail collection is good, includes bring a label.

Update
My small parcel sent with ebay large letter label was delivered today so I am assuming there was no issue with it.
