If you don’t use the parcel size that was recommended when you created your listing, and your item exceeds the maximum size and weight of the label, you may be responsible for the extra costs to send your item. This includes the cost difference between the parcel sizes and an administration fee of £1, including VAT.
kind regards Darren,Mandy & kids.

Agree with you 100% . with 7000 sales over the years and a good relationship with regular buyers its a shame that its come to this . I dont want to get involved with QR Codes or Phone apps just to despatch parcels and be bullied into Ebays restricted use of Delivery options within their so called Simple Delivery set up.
I will not List anything else . Looking at the response within the Community perhaps Ebay will realise the failing of a system that will drive reliable established private sellers away..........but I would not bet on it..

Meanwhile the oh so valuable sub Post Offices will go out of business and there'll be nowhere to go to get Signed For or Special Delivery!

BUT my annoyance seems to be you download the SimDel label then have to PAY PayPal for this. E-bay has already been paid by the purchaser for the postage and I will not be receiving this for some three months. Seems to be make, make, make everywhere possibly.

Simple Delivery currently only uses Royal Mail and Evri, not Parcelforce. The item you sold wasn't listed with Simple Delivery which is why you had to pay for the label.

Sold my first SD - a camera lens. Converted to SD by Ebay automatically and recommended a large letter...!
I revised the listing to be a small parcel which was accepted in the listing. Took an offer on the lens and the postage paid by the buyer looks to be for a large letter, Ebay instruct me in the seller instructions to use small parcel? The label I printed had no cost or size/weight but said Market Place Seller. I hope this will get delivered OK with no extra charges.
Yet again it looks like their system coding is faulty - charge large letter and tell me small parcel for somthing that simply couldn't be posted in a large letter.

I just had a great (!) chat with an agent online. It long, but worth reading!
I asked "I would like to know how I stop using simple delivery and also why you have forced UK prvivate sellers to use SD please?"
I then got the standard lines, so I asked again "Can you answer my question please? How do I stop using it?And why have you forced it on UK private sellers"
After a pause, I was told "Simple Delivery is now the standard for eligible listings, opting out is not possible"
There was a bit more chat when I had to explain the agent had used the term business when I am not a business, just a private seller, then I went for the direct question;
"Is it true that eBay are trying to force out private sellers, because if you read the eBay community, that is the rumour"
I was told (it's in my transcript) "Absolutely not it is same as saying that UK government does not want Uk peoples staying in UK"
I asked "What does the UK government have to do with this! That's a very poor comparison! I send my items via Royal Mail and they have compensation included through that, so I do not need eBay "protection" thank you!"
They replied "It is a way of saying not the best but we really need you and want you to succeed and stay here on ebay, I will be happy to send your opinion on the postage policy team"
I said "Please do, I think if someone actually reads the eBay community posts about this, you'll see that a) you are losing people and b) there are so many problems with it"
I then asked if the only way to avoid SD was to offer free P&P and was told "Sort of yes that will work and also business account is not part of simple delivery"
I replied with "I am not a business, I have already told you that! My interpretation of what you just said validates the rumour about private sellers! You are saying if I become a business, I don't have to use SD!"
There then continued the conversation with the agent trying to sell SD to me and claimed that eBay had done data analysis and found 78% of sellers had probelms selling? I said I had never had a problem in 20+ years!
Anyway, given that the agent was not going to be able to help me anymore, I thanked then for their time and finished the chat.
Doesn't look good does it!

Did you take the qr code to the post office and they printed the label. There are reports that say post office printed labels have cost shown so it is obvious the postage is incorrect.

It has not been thought through thoroughly and is quite frankly a farce
. They need to compensate the sellers for this error and provide free
postage for them. It is their error and they are not providing the
advertised service.
I wish someone with legal knowledge could look into this as it has been
forced on people who have not agreed to a change to their conditions of
trading.
Who can we take this to ?
Surely someone would like to make their name for taking on EBay.

Me thinks, in my humble opinion, eBay with a fair bit of pennies in the bank, can afford the best lawyers in town, to go over, and cross all the T's and dot all the i 's, making it 100% legal, before bringing it forth to us.
You ask surely someone can take eBay on.....🤔 Mmm yep, someone with very deep pockets who doesn't mind losing one hell of a lot of money !
It's not liked, that's for sure, but like it or not, it's here to stay !

Hi all.
How does one claim if a parcel arrived damaged using Simple Delivery service? Is it through ebay or Evri?

Start a return through eBay- reason item damaged. Make sure you don't give a reason like change of mind which is when you pay return postage. The postage contract is between Ebay and evri as Ebay bought the postage not the buyer or seller with Simple Delivery.

- You'll be protected if the item is lost or damaged from the point the item is scanned into the carrier's delivery network and until it's marked as delivered
based on that , i would imagine buyer has to state `arrived damaged` and leave ebay to do the rest ......well thats the theory !

Look for the option ' damaged in transit'.
I'm never sure that hapless app and mobile browser offer all the options you need, so if you using those, switch to a laptop / PC and use Chrome that combo seems to work well, and try from there to open your case.
