Calm down
your original post is two posts behind this one no 558
I saw you were saying earlier I thread you have no printer or smartphone
You can now book a royal mail collection and bring a label service directly from the eBay page when you get your simple delivery label

I've found if your item listing price is lower than £10 you are still able to see the custom postage options.

I don't understand why eBay isn't listening.

Me too - July 01st must have been the cut off date for a seller to have any control over their own dispatch...have never had to use SD before and absolutely dreading listing items from now on!
Why are eBay shooting themselves in the foot with SD and even worse the 4%+ surcharge. They should be beating the competition not copying them.

It would appear that it is the eBay business model is to gain market dominance by eliminating [or at least reducing the effectiveness of] competition through whatever means possible. Once this is achieved, maximise profits by increasing fees. I have little doubt that the arrangement which they have come to with the Royal Mail and Evri, is one which is profitable to eBay - i.e. they are taking a cut.

They then make much more money and get rid of the Private members who as has been made obvious by their current forced actions made it almost impossible for the small member to operate in the most unusable postage system and at the same time forcing both buyer and seller to pay more for their goods. It benefits nobody but Ebay
So let's sit back and watch Ebay become Amazon 2 while Vinted for example are catching up EBAY for membership and sales.
I am sure Ebay have forgotten their roots and have become a big company that is no longer listening to their customers, instead dictating to them on how they are going to do things without any consultation.
I for one have managed to work around their changes over the last few years but I am afraid "Simple Delivery", which is anything but simple is the straw that breaks the Camel's back and I can no longer make selling on EBAY a sensible or workable choice.
I have been a member of EBAY for many years, I have nearly 6000 transactions behind me and have 100% positive feedback so the customers have been quite happy with my service over the past 20 years using my choice of postage of items packed by myself with my own labels and in the process Ebay had had a good share of that so be happy with that, scrap the stupid "Simple Delivery"
And let the seller decide on the best way to keep their customers happy. You should not be dictating to them how to package and post their items.
It is not too late, but if you don't just watch the membership drop, it has already started.

Interesting that you mention Vinted. I recently had a login issue and their customer service replied extremely quickly, passing the issue to their technical people. The problem was resolved the next day. Try getting the same response from eBay!

Simple delivery is literally the pits! It is far from Simple and today the custom postage option has gone completely.
I've been buying & selling on ebay since 1999 and that is all about to come to an end. They have ruined what was once a great place with their desire to be a dictator.
Thank you eBay but goodbye.

Ebay continues to rip off sellers ! ,where i used to add a small amount to cover packaging , i no longer can , so if i sell a picture , obtaining the strong enough cardboard , using reams of packaging to ensure it safely arrives i can no longer do that ! i also used to factor in the time it would take to package properly , in the case of a picture , that can be up to 2 hours depending on size , Perhaps ebay should do the packaging as well ?
Just another way for ebay to coin it in , `No Fees` now makes them more money than they did before.
Seriously now considering giving up selling anything on this money grabbing control freak platform !

Sam here. Was trying to list a £20 Blu Ray.
They wanted me to pay £2.70 to post lowest rate when I can post for £2.00 with Roayl Mail.
The end of e-bay after their stupid Buyer Protection fee....

If you look at the date of that post it was in March when the option was there to opt out.
It's been a very slow roll out, but we've been told that from April 15th Simple Delivery will be mandatory for all Private sellers, that time is now, and sellers are waking to find their custom postage automatically now changed to SD postage.
There is no choice to select Custom Postage now, except for items which are exempt from SD, and even that is proving difficult for some peeps to find that option ! 😐
Just a tip, if anyone finds this check through all your listings, as there have been some big errors in this auto change.

themselves. They do not because they have no legitimate reason for
forcing this on everyone. I hope this backfires on them when people stop
using the site and their profits fall.
Here’s hoping someone fills the gap for small sellers like me and many
others.
I think the ownership has changed .

Vote with your feet and stop using eBay. It has just become a joke of an environment now.
Literally a dictatorship... and they don't care.
Sold a Vinyl yesterday for £180 and Simple delivery only offer £150 protection on the service eBay selected... big warning telling me my item wasn't fully covered but no option to change the service eBay had 'selected'
What a JOKE!

For people who sell items over £10 (most people) custom postage is
essential.
Ebay has been like a deserted island since the buyer protecrion increase,
and this is another nail in the coffin!
Will be looking for alternatives.
