Don't brag about the free listings if your new policy is making the seller almost double his price to the customer just to end up with the same margins as they had before ebay made what was a Simple Delivery into an unworkable complicated mess.
May work for some sale items on ebay but certainly is the kiss of death to people selling the same items I sell.
Nbody benefits again other than greedy Ebay.

>>No because the seller doesn't get the postage charge. If I sell something for £10 + postage, I get £10<<
Do you mean you never see the postage charge ? If so why did the EBay operative I spoke to say "just put your own tracking number in and you won't get charged the carriage [by EBAY]". Are you saying that might be true but the seller never gets the carriage they want to charge so that's pointless anyway ?

not sure how it is cheaper for the buyer. First of all they are paying the fee now and then they are having to pay for tracked mail which i never charged for before, everything (apart from the very odd higher priced item) went 2nd class RM and Certificate of Posting put in the tracking number. Never had a parcel go missing and never had any of my purchases through RM despatch not arrive. I was quite happy with the old system, paying sellers fees and doing my own despatch. I will not be using SD at any price.

You look through the list on the drop down and select the correct one .
Please note that you need to enter the parcels size and weight still or
you get the wrong cover .

>>As a seller, I do not pay the postage charge and I don't get the postage charge when I'm paid. The buyer pays the postage charge to ebay, who sends me a prepaid label.<<
What happens if the item is "free carriage" ?
We all know there is no such thing as free carriage, it just means carriage cost included in the item's cost*, so why not just put the cost of the item up by what one wants to charge for carriage, then use ones own carrier ?
* The problem with this is that it puts customers off buying more than one of something, or a basket of products, because they are paying multiple carriage charges. One can get over the first problem by giving options to buy multiple numbers of the product ?

choice of all couriers and still get the notification to seller and
traceability. You need to build in the packaging costs into your pricing
to get that covered.

'If you use the custom postage , advanced options....'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ability to do this will be taken away from all private sellers at some point. If you still have it, you're one of the lucky ones.
S.D. will become compulsory for all sooner or later.....☹️

There is no choice of carrier. If you set RM OFF and Evri On I still only got RM and none of the options matched my item size/weight.

They said it to get you off the phone!! You don't charge the postage, Ebay do the amount, decide how much and take it all. You just get what your listing finishes at for the product.

If you put free postage it means you pay eBay for the postage label. You don't get customers address until you get eBays label, so you have no address to take to PO.

Are you saying the EBay operative was telling a porkie when she said they would refund the label "automatically" 'if you put your won tracking code in' and/or it was never "scanned" ?

>>You can not get a better postal service than RM , never had any issues with them over decades of use<<
I have had issues of the odd parcel going missing with RM, and you try phoning RM if there's ever a problem ! Nightmare ! !
But I do not want to use RM or Evri as my business has DX Express in every day to PU orders for my (non E Bay) shop so I want to just use them. Why should I be stopped from doing so ? I think EBay are supremely arrogant in this.

I have found the simple delivery system very good. Problems only with personal collection and overseas
Anyone been able to solve the overseas issue? I have a buyer in Australia who eBay will not allow to pay, and will not allow me to post.

Still able to list and relist items without using Simple Delivery. Had one listing changed to Simple Delivery without my knowledge, so cancelled and relisted with custom postage.
