Didn’t know that

They all cover their bases but their bases leak if they take the *bleep* too much

I HAVE JUST PUT A POST ON ABOUT SIMPLE DELIVERY COULD YOU RESPOND TO THAT

Great tip , thanks. Successfully updated my listings.
Evri drop off points have reduced where I live and the one left is only daytimes. Useless.

What tip was that, please? Please could you (and everyone) quote the post they are referring to when their reply is of little use without it. Just click the double quotation mark at the top of the reply box. Thank you!

as they wrote a reply you can click on to the "in response to..."
But I'm not sure how up to date that tip is...

"Just click the double quotation mark at the top of the reply box. "

I do normally quote the post but I copy/paste it - I never knew that you could use the quotation marks, thanks for the tip!

I too can still choose my own postage by clicking on 'Advanced Options' on my PC. Long may it last as doubtful I'll continue if forced to use SD. Never had to try it yet of course.

20th may is here.

Has anything changed so far ??

yes they have put all parcel prices up and still no small parcel options which was not asked for as all were cover by the 61x45x45 sizes ? now £3.64 1kg & £5.15 2kg  all added to all listings with SD

Thanks, it takes you to the post being replied to, and I didn't know that!

Actually, most replies to replies might as well be just replies to the original post, it makes me realise.

WRONG!

When you relist an item there is NO OPTION to opt out of simple delivery.  I want to relist an item that measures 90cm in length, but the maximum length for simple delivery is 61cm.

Now get this, I've just been on the eBay Chat where I was advised to simply select the 61cm option and that "As part of an agreement we have, the post office will accept your package, even if the weight or dimensions are not accurate on the label, if they still meet the programme requirements."

Being a script reader in Bangalore, the agent could not offer any further clarification. But I'm not going to offer a large item with a postage of £2.96 when I know full well it should be over £6.

I suggested that on the same basis I choose a weight of 1kg rather than the true weight of around 3kg but he did not understand.

Anyone have any suggestions how I should proceed?

At the bottom of the size/weights page there should be a link to custom delivery

at least there should be as your 90cm item is not eligible for SD I don’t think

it says (if you can see it which depends on what day of the week it is or which way the wind is blowing) something like oversize or overweight parcel? Switch to custom

the customer agent should have told you how to get into custom delivery

ie, like this, as edwardian says.

Hi,Just relist the item then go to the item and revise it.

I have just relisted 33 items with the bulk relisting tool and all have custom postage as they were listed the last time. Before I did that I did a single relist which initially proposed simple delivery and I was easily able to switch it to custom delivery.

It is of course possible that Ebay are rolling out forced SD in a staggered fashion and haven't got to me yet.

Possibly, but I think it depends on the category. I listed clothes which were sd but a pair of shoes wasnt

Just tried that.  Unable to edit postage size.

Should be, but isn't.

Put it as 20kg

save draft

when you go back to it it might come up

alternatively list it in a category that hasn’t got simple delivery , ie dining table or something

custom delivery shows up automatically , make your choice then go back and change the category so your listing is correct that way

when you change category it retains the custom postage
