If your relying on the books alone to make you money then I'd pack it in. Personally I find that books are an unreliable product to make money on. Many factors play a part in this, as you mentioned the kindle, which is a prefered choice to read nowadays. Not to mention you can pick up books from a local bootfair for 50p.
Hope that helps

If it is of any compensation, it isn't just the sale of books that have run aground, but everything!
You specialise in quality books - I specialise in quality puzzles: Ravensburger, Falcon, Gibsons and Clementoni. Like you, I find the bottom has suddenly fallen out of then market. I blame eBay 100% for the current hiccup we're all going through - not just you. Since admitting that they saw the writing on the wall back in February with regards to security but only brought it to their customer's notice six weeks ago and then followed it up with an announcement that they'd be upping the insertion fees from 15p per item to 35p per item, disgruntled eBayers - sellers, mainly, have suddenly said "Enough is enough!!" and are voting with their feet., swinging across to that other famous site named after a South American River in their droves. Free listings for 20 items per month as a sweetener? Bah! It's almost like saying: "Have this cup of tea on us."
Since this new system has come in the number of watchers on my items have dropped to ZERO and the maximum number of page views has been 3, average two. Finding things hard? JOIN THE CLUB! ![]()

Although I don't sell a lot of stuff and only sell items occasionally, I've found that sales seemed to have flatlined recently. It seems that the hacking scandal that hit eBay recently has seriously shaken comsumer confidence in eBay, and when I have listed items since the hacking incident the items have struggled to gain watchers. The majority of those watchers didn't even bother bidding, whereas before eBay was hacked I could have expected far more activity for the same items and I would no doubt have got a better price for the items I've sold. And what with these stupid increases in listing fees at a time when confidence in eBay has been seriously reduced as a result of the hacking scandal I really think eBay have shot themselves in the foot with regards to encouraging sellers to advertise their stuff for sale on this site. If buyers are staying away due to the hacking scandal and sellers are being deterred by the increase in fees, as well as the fact that the site's recently been compromised, how do eBay expect things to improve under these conditions?

EBay as so much like a cat on a hot tin roof, for the FIRST TIME EVER, as a "free lunch" they have put up TWO consequitive free weeksends, and even then, less than a handful of eBayers have bothered listing 100 items.
The bottom has fallen out of the market. Under normal circumstances I'd be up at the crack of dawn, but I can't muster any entheusiasm. It's like everything's stopped for the World Cup. Might give A a try - can't be any worse than this![]()
