A little research tells me that the paperback came out on 7th Sept 2001, 5 days ahead of the hardback, so it is the first edition (purists will disagree), and your print string is for a first printing.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that it's not terribly collectable. There are a few similar copies on the River, starting at £2.

hi
thanks for the quick reply

. I want to know If anyone can tell me anything about a Manga Artists called Rakuten Kitazawa. I hacve wwhat appears to be a 1930 edition of his War of the Diplomats one of a series of political books he created between 1929 and 1934 Mine is book number 5 of the series and is in Mint condition.
I know he worked for newspapers was for these five years a ploitical satirist travelled abroad and is known as the Fther of Manga I got all that from a web site.
So is this book collectable Is is of any interest to modern day Manga collectors or are there just loads of these books aroun. It is written in old or classic Japanese which has made it harder to get information about informally,

Any help gratefully received

Post #1155 Re: Tinker, the Hole-eating Duck.

Just sold it for £40. So, next time you see a copy...........

A friend of mine has just had their book published, is there any advice anyone can give me as i would like to publicize the book for her on ebay.
The book is a short story called 'SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND YOUR ANGEL' by Lorraine J De La hoyde
I have listed a signed copy
Unlike the other items i sell, this is not a money making proposal, i just want to help someone who has realized a dream by getting the book published.
Thankyou in advance for any advice.

Sorry you're not getting any responses. This is a tricky one.

I'm not sure if Ebay is the right place to sell a new author. If your friend is not a known author, then no-one will be searching any of the keywords in your title (and subtitle). The only way you'll get a sale is by someone browsing through children's books.

Having said all that, your listing looks very appealing.

Good luck!

As Manor House says you will be relying on casual browsers, one of the things you could do to enhance you already very good listing would be to take some pictures of the inside illustrations if they are as good looking as the front cover that might give a bit more encouragement for browsers to purchase. You can host extra pics for free on your listing with photobucket.

When I worked for a publisher, they always approached the local book shops first (by foot) who were often agreeable to the idea of boosting a local author.

I remember we used to leave a book at each shop and then go round the following week to see if they would display them. angel sitting on amy

Hi

I have parts 1-5 of Stephen King's The Green Mile all are first edition and first prints was wondering if they were worth anything.

thanks

Carrie

Sadly not, because he's such an incredibly popular author and these are this is one of his later books, they were published in such high numbers that there is no value in them.

If you do an advanced search some one sold all 6 of the the 1st's for £2 recently.

hiya all, i was just going through a box of books and came across Dragondrums by Anne McCaffrey. it is an uncorrected advance proof i was wondering if this sort of thing increases the value of the book?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Hi,
Could one of the resident experts please take a look at my listing 360047438461 and translate for me please. This is not a plug - just curious as to what I am selling.
Thank you.
:-)

I translated it using babelfish as I can't read any German.

The title comes up as The buyer in the German Bergangenheit

Your text comes up as MONOGRAPHIEN FUR GERMAN CULTURAL HISTORY GIVEN CHANGE FROM GEORGE STONE LIVING THE BUYER IN GERMAN BERGANGENHEIT. WITH EINHUNDERTFUNFZIG UBBILDUNGEN AND SUPPLEMENTS AFTER THE ORIGINALS FROM THAT 15. TO 18. FAURHUNDERT

This is not a plug - just curious as to what I am selling.

If I didn't know you better, Ann - you could've fooled me!

You should ask about a book before you list it. It is verboten to advertise your current offerings.

They can be, there is a market for them - but you may not get much for it. You can sell them on eBay, but not on the river.

Thanks for reply.

If you have a look on bookfinder.com there's someone asking $212 for a proof signed by the author. You could try asking the same as a good condition first edition based on the prices there. But bear in mind those are prices for unsold copies so they may well be over priced.

i would like some advie please, i have a small old book the spice box by josh billings [henery wheeler shaw] very humorous book i think it is about 1881, it is foxed on lots of the pages, is it worh listing in this condition
