I think with virtually every courier now it's simply luck of the draw. If I post something on eBay I always use Royal Mail because I know from experience that if the buyer lives in the middle of nowhere there's a very good chance it won't arrive at all if sent using Evri.
However, when items are posted to me in LU3 postcode, I'd rather it was Evri because Royal Mail deliveries have become alarmingly erratic, with crucial correspondence delayed for over a week and then arriving in a flood all at once, whereas we have a good Evri driver whom everybody likes and parcels arrive when they should with her.

The trouble is buyers want cheap, it's not really an issue for them, as it's your fault when something goes wrong. In all fairness, I've never had a problem with evri. Yodel, on the other hand, is always a nightmare for me.

That's what happened to me seller said using royal mail but used evir who left my stone island tracksuit outside without chappin the door but my other order I just got evir to deliver to a shop which uses evir to send or receive and also when I ordered a heated blanket from Amazon and was left at my door step without chappin too so I knew then that I won't be ordering from Amazon again but I've got some eBay sellers to get evir to stop leaving parcels at door step without chappin the door and to ask instead of picture taken at front door step but to take picture of buyer holding the item sent as evir is the worst delivery service to date

Past four deliveries?
I've received just 1 out of 9!
Mostly sent to a pick-up point (Post Office) never even got there, with the usual "nobody was in", and often were just lost, or disappeared during tracking.
I now avoid them like the plague. Customer service is non-existent.

Here in the North, Evri simply doesn't deliver and with no communication: for ages the parcel remains booked as being in the centre but no courier can be found to deliver. During the summer we lost more than 10 parcels with a lot of hassle. Ebay has even Evri as a standard delivery, meaning that seller can't even change or being reimbursed. Evri should be banned!!!

Yes I agree that Evri is useless and lie about attempting delivery and fake the delivery I have a camera that is motion activated and records everything and I own the road that approaches my house which was excavated for a gas main on the day they claim to have delivered the item. Said left in a secure location porch. I don’t have a porch liars. And the money back guarantee is useless a I got nothing. Why don’t you look at my history and see what I buy. This is only a small amount but it the principal of believing these liars over me that is worse. Evri uses anyone who has a car no reputation or training.

100 % agree with you , in the last few months everything I buy now seems to be delivered (or not delivered) by Evri , it has previously been roughly 50 / 50 between them and R M. I have used Ebay for over fifteen years and I am having more delivery problems in the last few months than I have had in the previous fifteen years put together ! deliveries slow - items being lost in transit - tracking gets to the National hub then just stops , I think it's time the changed their name again , can I suggest "Bermuda Triangle" Parcels Ltd .

If more people messaged sellers and said they're not going to buy their products if they are going to be delivered by Evri then they'd soon get the message and change.
Sadly this doesn't seem to be happening on mass, but the buyers must also take some of the blame for this as they're willingly accepting Evri as the courier knowing well what is likely to happen with their delivery/Parcel.
As a business seller we only use Royal Mail first class tracked and ParcelForce24hour services, more costly admittedly but neither has lost a parcel or delivered a damaged parcel in the past five or so years we've been selling (10,000+ sales approximately)
Evri are cheap, it's why sellers use them and why buyers buy products from companies that are selling cheap. If you buy using Evri you have a accept there's a very good chance they'll either lose it, damage it, deliver it late or to the wrong address, there's little point moaning on here when it happens, pretty much everyone by now knows what they're like.
Some areas have no problems, possibly down to the the individual drivers, but reading the many posts/threads on here there are obvious problems.

courier is Evri. I have explained the issues I have had and ask if they
would consider using Royal Mail.
Eight times out of ten I have received a refusal, particularly if it is a
business seller as they are the ones I have found stubbornly refuse any
alternative. Now I don’t bother because I can do without the hassle.
This year I have adopted a different tack.
If I am interested in an item on eBay, I first check who the carrier will
be (if it is displayed of course).
If it is Evri I ignore the listing, if it just states Standard Tracked
Delivery without the Express Tracked delivery option, invariably it will be
Evri.
If the listing states Standard Tracked Delivery I check whether the Express
Tracked Delivery is offered, if it is, I select this and add a note to the
seller as follows:
I have selected Express Tracked Delivery; please send by Royal Mail 24/48hr
Tracked. If for any reason you are unable to send by Royal Mail, please
let me know. Thank you very much indeed. Best wishes, etc.
This approach negates the necessity of exasperating time consuming emails
and consequent refusals and establishes my requirements.
I have had 100% success in adopting this method.
Whilst Express Delivery is slightly more expensive than Standard, most
items are Royal Mail 24 so the items arrive speedily; so all is well in my
eBay universe now; sans Evri.

When I first posted this, we had numerous problems with one courier, who was thankfully replaced.
I’m tempting providence, when I say I’m very happy with our new courier. They keep me up to date on an actual delivery time. This week the parcels were delivered early! I’m live in a very rural area.
It really is a lottery as to where you live and who your courier is.
Pleased to say both Royal Mail and Evri are providing a great service at the moment here. Long may that remain!
