My Evri driver is usually friendly and hardworking but the company he works for is shockingly incompetent. My last two eBay purchases have had Evri as the delivery “service”, on both occasions poor weather as been cited as reason for delayed deliveries, yet both items’ due delivery dates were meant to be BEFORE any bad weather hit!  This would be funny if it wasn’t so insulting to the end user.  I’m still waiting for the second package and I would urge all sellers to stop using Evri - my heart always sinks when I see their involvement with my purchases.  I will take the advice and try to nominate any other delivery company as Evri is Evri-body’s nightmare.  I’d even rather pay a little more in delivery charges for the peace of mind

I agree. I have purchased two items recently. One failed to be delivered and I have received a refund, and the other I am still waiting but have little hope. I too in future will be asking the seller to not use Evri as I would like to receive my purchases.

Today on the Nick Ferrari programme on LBC one of the topics was about Evri
and where they leave peoples goods in the strangest of places, from thrown
in the middle of the lawn
and took a picture of it whilst the dog proceeded to "Chew" it, in my case
they took a picture of it on top of a grid, pushed through open windows
knocking ornaments crashing to the floor,
in a car park, to the wrong street or address. The list goes on and on !!
The thing that has me puzzled is how are they still trading ??

Heard someone mention these group buying things where small sellers join up to get better courier deals (never used anything like that myself). There is one was called Procure Partners or something like that.

Anyone here had any luck with stuff like that? Always keen to hear what’s actually working for others. Cheers.

I can't answer your question, but this is the third or fourth thread I've seen your post on this evening. You might be better off starting your own thread.

The kind of thing you describe (sellers banding together to get better courier deals) sounds good in principle, but as far as selling on eBay goes, I think it would be completely unworkable for all sorts of reasons - a logistical nightmare. I was going to list just a few that immediately occurred to me, but even that would take too long.

Do you have a separate account for selling, different to the one you've posted here with?

Evri are DREADFUL, they have lost 2 parcels in the last 14 days, Ebay has refunded mer, but I wanted the items I bought.

I left a bad review on Tripadvisor and Evri resonded in 30 mins!

Sign the Petition to get Evri shut Down

Royal Mail packets and parcel deliveries are by employees.

Evri packets and parcel deliveries are by self employed.

So Evri are saving payment of employers National Insurance.

They are not good.  I want the choice.    Everything is late, goes missing - all last 4 have been late, tracking poor.   Royal Mail 100% better and frankly I want the item I bought, not having to spend time I don’t have complaining and something not turning up.  If customers don’t want Evri then Evri need to pull their socks up.    Time to listen perhaps.   My Evri driver is great but their logistics are not.

Well said. Poor workers rights

For me Evri (Hermes) have simply failed too often. I have used them as a seller and as a buyer over the last two years. It is not only that their delivery service is unreliable, but trying to claim the compansation one has paid for in case of lost or damaged packages is simply impossible. Changing the comapny's namefrom Hermes to Evri  is not enough to remedy the company's many problems. Royal Mail manages to lose parcels too, but at least it is easy to claim back the value of the item. IMO is time for ebay to remove Evri as an option.

It's the tracking that's terrible, the times it says out for del and nothing turns up is rediculous, then it says del tomorrow and it turns up the day before when your not in and it gets put in the wheelie bin, ????????

Ofcom’s annual research into consumers’ experiences of parcel deliveries was published a few days ago. Amazon and FedEx jointly take the top spot in Ofcom’s customer satisfaction survey of parcel delivery companies, while Evri and Yodel customers are the least satisfied when it comes to contacting parcel firms for help. Full details are here: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/post/deliveries-and-charges/best-and-worst-parcel-firms-for-customer-satisf...

Two bad experiences with Evri this week - for a purchase they sent me tracking to say item would be delivered with a time frame.  Never turned up.  Various issues with tracking.  All confused and so on.  I think they finally delivered it two days later.  Waited in needlessly.  Messed us about. Today my wife took one of my sales to send, after I rushed to package it up and get it off to the buyer quickly.  Couldn’t ship it because the Evri machine is broken in the shop.  Can’t print labels from barcode and so on.  We’re going away so it will have to wait for us to try again later.  I suppose eBay will moan and nag me.  Evri are inept!

Why are you still sending items out using Evri and not Royal Mail? The
issues with Evri are well known!

I'm currently chasing two deliveries from Evri.  One (Ebay purchase on 3rd, supposedly sent on the 4th) didn't appear on the tracking until yesterday saying it had been held due to damage.  It was supposed to be delivered today - it wasn't.   Edited - as I was typing this I received an email to say they didn't deliver and it will now be Monday.

The other purchase - said they attempted delivery Thursday - they didn't and couldn't because customer services told me to parcel missed the connection to the courier.   Customer services said it would be delivered yesterday and if it wasn't she would contact me this morning before 10.  Neither happened and there is not further update since Thursday.  Basically you can't rely on anything they say.

I have ordered two items today and now contact the seller to see what courier they use.  If it's Evri or Hermes I won't purchase from them, I would rather pay a bit extra for Royal Mail.

Evri are useless in ct188dj since dan left weve had nothing but trouble 3 weeks ago new guy started we got our parcels after 2 weeks he left now back to missing parcels getting worried as have 3 temu parcels due

I have now stopped offering evri as a delivery option.

They keep losing stuff sent to me, even when directed to the local Post office (click and collect) - it is so regular now I expect it not to arrive and if it does (VERY rarely maybe one in five) it is very, very late, it takes literally 2-3 weeks.

Tracking is utterly useless, often contradicts itself and gives false information, emails are templates and promised phone calls from "Claire" never materialise - never- another quite frankly honestly a lie. Only customer contact is a useless bot. Terrible.

I keep making claims and eBay refunds. However they have started asking me to wait "30 days" for items to turn up and then I will get a refund... this is just not on, even the eBay customer service rep implied to me they were utter ****.... stating they get a huge number of calls "on this situation".

Aren't eBay just fed up with this? It reflects really badly on them.. whenever I hear the name "evri" my heart literally drops.

They are off the planet level bad and I am genuinely surprised they have managed to stay in business and retailers use them.

Evri, like other parcel delivery companies in the UK, is regulated by Ofcom regarding specific consumer protection conditions and complaints procedures. So as well as posting here, take a couple of minutes to send a complaint to Ofcom. If they get swamped with complaints then they might have to stopworking from home watching the latest box set, and actually do something.

Ofcom are about as effective as the other UK "regulators", ostensibly they work for the consumer, but in reality they work for big business, the consumer is just an afterthought.

"Ofcom has strengthened its regulations to make sure people are treated fairly by parcel firms, and following this, several companies have made a number of changes to how they handle complaints, Since 2023, we have seen customers’ satisfaction with the process of contacting parcel operators increase from 41% to 45% in 2025, while complaints handling satisfaction increased from 43% to 46% during the same period."

So, bottom of the (Ofcom) league Evri has improved its complaint handling has it?

It is still appalling.

Sorry, Ofcom seem more part of the problem than the solution.
