i think the smilies on the front page in the titles where as before you couldnt see them now you can .. its slow on any thread that has a lot of postings and or graphics on them 😞

Some Stats for you all - I've just run a test on my thread & here's the outcome for you all :-

Lots of text with Woddy = 44 secs from Post Message to seeing the page again

Little text with Woddy = 46 secs

Only text = 45 secs

Only Woddy = 35 secs

WHAT ON EARTH'S GOING ON ???

I have quite a quick PC as it's a server, so anyone with a basice computer or the like & also anyone who's on Dial Up - It's gonna take 1min + to show your posting 😞 I have been told that someone on Broadband has just posted & it's nearly been 2 mins before they got the page back with the post showing:-(

I'm also being sent either back to the 1st page of my thread or have to scroll down the WHOLE page to find the latest postings :-S NOT GOOD

there is only one and ONLY ONE good thing about this change so far and that is a SIGN OUT ....

I always try to see the good things but in this case the bad out weigh the good ..

The new board changeover is still work-in-progress. This could be why it is so slow at the moment. We will be able to tell by the weekend.

The new format, I agree, is cr@p but I am going to try to have fun anyway :^O Nobody died and we still have somewhere free to play - even if it is an unnecessarily vandalised version of the last place.

I have to say, (and I may well get slated for this off my fellow posters-or postees) I have not found things too bad so far, the slowness I have put down to the guys at eBay still working on things, but PLEASE can we have some boards, (i.e. all), not so grey/gray they really are testing my eyesight to the limit, I feel sorry for those who may have some problems with their vision.

I understand it can be difficult to implement change, especially when there is format that seems fine, that users find ok, but there are some strong feelings around at the moment, and to completely skim over peoples thoughts & ideas may be seen more as 'the mighty I am' than 'the users really mean something to me, as if it wasn't for them, I would be out of a job, as they wouldn't pay my wages'.

I will post on this thread again to say thanks, as, and when, the format changes to be less monotone on the eyes.

I really do not wish to start an argument with anybody, especially as you are obviously in a particular position where you are too busy to respond to individual posts & I think the feeling is too strong within this particular community to leave it a few days between posts, (you would end up with dozens of posts to your one post & I don't see that as fair). Please listen to us regulars, we are the ones who are on here all the time & we see the boards day in, day out, & implement change as you see fit. If you need any clarification on the above points, please feel free to put up a sticky asking peeps for advice/ideas on change.

You may also notice I have not posted for much of today as I have been trying to think of how to word this little non-rant. I do feel you have the best interests of the posters & lurkers at heart, so what do you say? give us a chance to let our thoughts be put into action?

Sorry, I said that as a non-rant, but re-reading it, there was a lot to take in & it seemed like a rant, but feeling is strong & I meant every word of it in an unrantish way

I, for one have to agree with bigcolbee - I am not experiencing any problems other than what was 'acceptable' before, the new threads are just as easy to read (just look a little different) and as for speed - no real difference noticed!

I've been trying the post / refresh thing too, and it's a heck of a lot quicker, but still slow as old harry compared to the way it was before... are we on an old server, by any chance, Alexia ??

and I agree with bigcol... the grey stripes are doing nothing for my eyesight , although i don't spose it will take long to get used to the rest... some features are really good, like the auto sig box and the functions , smileys etc. all in the message box.
