Yes, and only a week after that for my birthday. 
All celebrate with me with party poppers and letting off fireworks. I am lucky.

Apparently my mum was rushed to hospital with me on Christmas Eve, but nothing happened. They weren't as accurate with the dates back in the 1880's

Yes, as so often when I was little (still am) I got one present for Christmas/Birthday. I felt I missed out there. 
I was not due until early March. Mum was in hospital though. I think as soon as I got to smell the lovely aroma of the New Years Day dinner I just had to appear. With my first weeks wages when I left school I treated my mum for the meal she had missed when I was born.

My birthday's at the other end of January. I did write to the General Register Office a few years ago demanding a recount on my age, because I'm sure it can't be that high

Yes so great as I never needed to go to school on my birthday. And fortunate to only have had one job years ago where I was needed to go in on my birthday. They all sang to me.
