Open up your Task Manager and check to see what is using the computers resources. It might simply be updating Windows or some of your other software. The other day my excel was running really slowly; no obvious reason, but it's fine again now. I think computers are simply giving us an advance warning that they are going to take over

If it's just the internet, it might just be your IP speed due to lots of people spending money on Black Friday

I ended up turning all off, and at the wall. Seems to be speeding up a bit now. But, few minutes before I did that I got a message on my screen something like ''Your internet connection was interrupted due to a noticeable change being detected''

Good thoughts too from you there. Thank you. Woman Very Happy

You might want to update your wireless adapter software (via Device manager)

It could be that your router is quite dated.

You may need to change the wireless channel you router is using to talk to your laptop due to other devices interrupting the connection (ie televisons or telephones)

Finally you could always try using an ethernet cable for times when it's really bad

Thank you so much for this information. I have copied this into a file, just in case it plays up again. Luckily at the moment all appears back to normal. Great to learn new things about the behind scenes workings of a computer, connections, etc.
