Linkword

This game is relatively straightforward in that you just have to find one word that links two words.  The first word given as a clue ends with the linkword and the second word given as a clue starts with the linkword.  So, for example, we could have the following:

Pin**** and ****teaser.  In this example the missing word would be Prick - ie: Pinprick and Prickteaser.

I'll give you another one to start the thread off - if you feel like having a go see if you can work out the answer and then submit your own two words following the same format as described above once you have answered the post.  So, to start off with, we have:

Fire**** and ****reading

Its Proof???

Cling**** and ****buff

Well done Rose, it was Proof.

Film - ie:  Clingfilm and Filmbuff, although strictly speaking "Filmbuff" is two separate words with a space between the M & B, not one word joined together.

Air**** and ****wreck

Ship?

mud**** and ****spur

Yes Taylor-Books, it was Ship.

Was the answer Lark?

Mini**** and ****shaft

Ahhh yes i thought maybe one or both might be seperate. English and words was always my best subject but there are still some things i get wrong. Lots of words you think maybe together and their not. Thank you M25,, bless you, ill have another go,,,

There are quite a few options for this question - ie: "one", "body", "thing", and "where" but the object of the game is to provide a linkword that is the second half of the first word, and which is also the first half of the second word.  The linkword should fit in the middle of the two clues to create the link - for example, in one of my other previous posts we had Mini**** and ****shaft.  The answer was "cam" - ie:  Minicam & Camshaft.  Ideally there should only be one correct answer as to the identity of the linkword.

Have another go:  Smiley Happy

Gun**** and ****fly

Its Fire

Snap**** and ****gun

This probably not right but????. I dunno?? Is it right

Well done Rose, you got it right!  Smiley Very Happy

Knife**** and ****age

Is it point?,,,im not sure?.

Bare**** and ****lash

The word I was thinking of was "Man" - ie:  Knifeman & Manage.  The word "Gunpoint" could be consided a correct alternative but "Pointage" is a French word, so seeing as this thread consists of English words the second word wouldn't count.

Back

Weather**** and ****reader

This one is proof?.

Ahhh yes i see what you meant about the Knife one.

Needle**** and ****shy

Think ive done this right,,its a matter of knowing if words go together, or if their seperate words

Work - ie:  Needlework and Workshy

Drag**** and ****tease

You got the last one right Rose, and you set the clues up correctly, so you must be getting the hang of the game now.  Smiley Happy
