You were right about Lovage (Levisticum officinale) - it's a perennial plant from the Mediterranean which is sometimes used as seasoning in cooking and is a member of the parsley family. That was a good answer to the thread - remembering the obscure words is harder than recalling the ones which tend to feature in everyday speech on a regular basis.
