I think some of the money should go to wish upon a star charity which sends terminally ill children on a wish it could be a holiday or it could be a special day out ect
also another one is little haven children's hospice in Essex this gives help to ill children and gives their parents a break
I have a disabled son so know the stress it causes
One more is DEBRA anyone watch the news the other night will know what this is its where childrens skin fall of there was a programme on channel 4 about it called the boy whos skin fell of very sad and the amount of pain these children go through is too much to bear

how about the One World Orphanage Trust......then money would go to all the children who don't have Christmas in countries where life is grim everyday and Christmas is just another day.

I to think it should stay in the UK and with the little 'uns. The raffle sounds like a brilliant idea and would raise much needed funds for these charities.

Anyway whatever you decide good on ya ebay! Donate the Christmas Day prizes to and that way the families can enjoy a computer free day and spend Christmas as it should be spent.....with the family!

Hi EBay elves.I am sure you are aware that myself and a few other very good people have been running an EBay Charity Sub Hunt.We have raised a bit of money for charity between ourselves doing it and have had great fun too.We haven't finished yet,still have a few to run.We are still deciding between ourselves where the money will be going or like yourselves who will have final say or maybe we will divide it.My personal Opinion is that the money should be divided between Animal Charities and Childrens charities equally.There are a lot of very small charities in both these fields that get left out while the big ones seem to get more attention.I don't have any particular 1 or 2 in mind because there are so many.If my fellow charity hunters agree.I wonder if we could somehow combine the two funds as long as all involved agree.I will be very interested to hear what you think on the subject.

Hi

I agree with mrs FL a Special Care Baby Unit my daughter was 11 weeks premature unfortunately she only lived 9 days but without the unit I would not have had that very special time with her.

the staff on these units have to be so highly trained and equipment is very expensive just to run a bed on these cost's over £2000 per day

good luck to all charitiesd that do eventually get something:-)

Salvation Army, they work year round,they are a very forgotten charity who do a lot of good work. Or St.Martins in the fields,in Trafalgar Square. They not only open their church to the homeless, they make 'one off grants' to anyone in need,families and single people

I'm am involved with the HMSA (being a sufferer myself) and they are always looking for funds. Loads of people suffer from HMS (Hypermobility Syndrome), children and adults alike, but it's still virtually unheard of. Check out www.hypermobility.org for more details.

Failing that, I think a children's charity or a homeless one is a great idea.

id suggest sticking with the childrens charities there are so many children out there desperately seeking loving families...these kids in care dont get a lot at christmas just 2 or 3 items there parents dont visit them etc etc,,,,id say show these kids theyre special too

Having read through this thread may I suggest auctioning the items (can't do raffle as gets too technical law-wise). Then donating the money to Children In Need as they split their money between several different large and small children's charities in UK and abroad. That would seem to satisfy most of the requests on here?

Children in need id say no. Not coz I dont agree with it but because theres so many that contribute.

Should be split and part go to the smaller charities that dont get so much funding

Whilst I totally agree with the suggestions of Children's Charities. Could just some contribution go to the very worthy RNLI Royal National Lifeboat Institution. They are a registered charity and receive no government funding and no lottery grants. Yet who can say how many lives the brave men & women have (and will) save.

Thanks Mrs FL it was in 1995 she would have been 10 next year but I still live every minute of the time I had with her which I would not have got without a SCBU That time to me was so precious and I know for other's it will be too

Just glad that some causes will benefit from the unclaimed prizes and the sub charity hunt

my two cents worth, i think the money should go to either a childrens charity. Maybe premature baby units orphaned youngsters,kids in homes,meningitis trust. Children who come from abussive families.Or a twirlies trust, Help the aged etc. I also think the money should be given to UK charities.Charity begins at home and we need to get our own house in order before we help others. If you try to split it through out the world the ammount would be so small it would not make a different.

I don't think it matters which charity benefits, I think its fantastic that EBay are going to do this. Well done guys and gals 🙂
