Oh sorry meant to wish you good luck with your photography :-D

Gone but never forgotten .

Thank you ever so much Stu.

Picasa was one that I'd heard of but couldn't remember the name of so I couldn't google it.

You've given me a lot to look at and your help is very much appreciated.

I live on the Gower in Wales and often find myself in beautiful surroundings and it makes sense to me to take pictures!

Because I moved from Essex to Wales I looked at Christmas time to send some of my family back in Essex, a Calendar of the local area and was surprised to find that only Mark Button a well known local photographer and one other photographer who's name escapes me were the only people with Calendar's!

Mark Button is very good but he seems to be more interested in Wedding photographs than he once was with taking scenic/landscape pictures.

I would love to make my own Calendar and send copies to family who haven't been able to come and visit us here and see how lovely it is. Photobucket

If you want to do a nice calendar look at vistaprint, we did a load for Xmas pressies last year, they aren't the cheapest but the quality and finish is superb.

Everyone commented on how they are as good as the shop bought premium calendars but obviously much more personalised, you even have the option to have important dates marked on it too.

Gone but never forgotten .

Thought i would share this

Funnyonion, I upload all mine to picasa. I absolutely love picasa

I like picassa too. You can do enough quickly to edit the photos without a lot of fuss. I also like the way you can scroll through all the photos without opening different folders.

i got joggled i think in the last one lol

the batteries could have been fresher, and i tried the fireworks setting - most annoying as you dont see anything on the screen while the shutters open
Photobucket

I'm finding that if I go off of the auto settings (sports mode etc) that my photos are slightly blurred, I'm beginning to think that I'm not steady enough for an SLR! Photobucket
Photobucket

Gina thats because you will be using a slower shutter speed, you may need to buy a tripod and/ or monopod to help out. I tend to use a monopod for weddings when inside (esp churches) as anything below 1/60th second is difficult to keep steady enough without blurring.

If anything you would have more control of your settings with an SLR compared to a compact camera once you are used to it

I think I probably need to concentrate a bit more! I took some on sport mode of my gd dancing & was really disappointed when they came out blurred, but I must admit I just aimed & fired! Photobucket

This is a handheld 7 shot HDR of Ickworth house

Ickworth House HDR

Pitstone Windmill supposed to be the oldest post mill in the UK
again this is an HDR image

Pitstone Windmill

is that sky real or have you fiddled with it Shady?
Photobucket

The sky is real towery, HDR photography is made up of the same picture taken a number of times using different exposure settings.

Basically a shot taken to expose the sky, another to expose the windmill etc etc then each image effectively laid on top of each other to create the effect.

:-D,do you have anything else photography linked

will the photos stay with the new thread/board?
