Always been one of my things on my bucket list to see. Hubby and I were discussing it only recently. We used to sail across to Norway on DFDS but they have stopped the direct trips to Norway now and you have to go via Denmark so you end up on the wrong side of the country. Real same. We could fly and then hire a car but that is extremely expensive at about £500 per week for the car alone.
Norway is a wonderful country. I really hope you get to see the Northern Lights - it would be an amazing experience :)

Lovely photos polly. Never been to norway but was lucky enough to have 3 weeks in Iceland when I was 18, the scenery was stunning, funny though I appreciate it more now than I did then:-D
Btw my search for a new camera is over, i will be ordering a freshly boxed Nikon d300 at the weekend with some extra kit, can't wait to get it and start playing

Hi Shady, I am getting the 300 as there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in spec (apart from the video, which I am not bothered about) but is quite a bit cheaper. I will be getting a few lenses, battery grip, flash and a few other goodies to go with it! I feel like a kid in a sweetshop at the moment with all the choice

Interesting comments there and will take onboard your comment ref the battery grip. I will play with the camera first before deciding on it then.
I am now able to keep my FZ50 which I can use as a backup but also has video capture if I ever really want to use it, though I never have apart from curiosity value.
was thinking of getting a couple of extra batteries anyway, lense wise I am looking at a 18 to 55, 55 to 200 and the 50mm 1.8. I have PSE at the moment but was going to look at PS too and may well take the plunge. What do you think to the VR lenses? are they worth the extra money IYO?
I really can't wait to get it and was expecting to be able to only afford the D90.......hence my excitememnt:^O

That one sounds like fun and will be an interesting variation on the normal stuff, I would love to do one like that. The leafs is a great idea and as a bonus is more 'green' than confetti eh?
I must admit I prefer the contemporary style of wedding shots as they are by far away better as a story of the day imo.
Just an idea for one of the pics as i am sort of thinking ghosts and ghouls sort of theme is if you cover the first dance maybe get the bride and groom to stand on the dancefloor completely still and get the guests to dance around them use a long exposure and you will get the guests all blurred but the B&G completely in focus and sharp. I did this on the wedding day the other week and it was one of the most talked about pictures:-)

Polly the best way to do them imho is to get your camera on a tripod, this will provide stability which is very important. It will be trial and error from here but I suggest that you use a very slow shutter speed and try anything from 5 seconds through to 30 secs, you may well need a remote shutter release or use the timer on your camera so that you avoid any shake. I am planning to do this this year but I have also bought a few ND filters which restrict the amount of light coming in to the lens therefore I will be able to use longer exposure times.
My hope is that I will be able to capture a number of fireworks in one frame and should be impressive (if it works) my other suggestion would also be to use the widest angle shot you can so you capture as much as possible.

This one was 11 seconds at F20, for aerial ones i expose for about 5 seconds
