Yes, but is also an extra £4... I could get a 'meal deal' from Tesco's with that instead 😁

True... you can't eat gravel... ( although it seems like some food manufacturers at least try to make us... )

I'll see what I think after I put down the 10mm, as you could see in my latest pic, the line of water pooling at the edge on the left.... actually, looking at the picture again myself, I think I will add an extra 20mm bag! Alas no meal deal for me then 😭

I did notice the water, but of course I couldn't see how deep it was in that picture.

It does look as if you won't need to do anything more after this last bag, though.  A good job done.

By the corner of the shed, it's about 2 or 3 inches deep, the bit down the rest of the path is maybe about an inch at its deepest now. The path itself is fine now... at least in this section, but I ain't doing the rest!

Well, no - it's the council's job anyway isn't it?

It's supposed to be, but maintaining public pathways is of their lowest priorities!

Well, yeah... that's true... I suspect that at most councils the highest priority is the maintenance of bonuses for the directors and councillors...

Especially now, as our Wigan council is on the verge of bankruptcy, due to improper use of funds... but hey, if it means we can start up Tyldesley Ward District Council, I'll be fine with that!

That's a nice idea, but I suspect that what will actually happen is that Wigan Council will get effectively put into administration ( I think they call it "Special Measures" when it's a public body? ) and once the books balance they'll get a slight tap on the wrists and be told "don't be naughty again!" won't they?

More than likely! Though they've been very unreliable and very corrupt for decades now, they spent over £1m to build a brand new office building for themselves, whilst claiming they had to cash to put into other other much needed community projects. Now Salford Council is muscling into the area.... they're better in some ways, but worse in others, specifically in road management, so if it was possible to rout them both and establish a new local council, it could be better for the area!

You should have a look at what Surrey County Council are like...

Good example: Lorry damage to grass verges... Epsom and Ewell Borough Council say it's a Surrey matter as it's highways; Surrey say it's a Borough matter as it's the verge... despite their own website a few months earlier proudly boasting at having taken over the verge maintenance as part of the highways responsibilties...

They do a lot of buck passing don't they?!

That's very evident!!

Maybe the ceos have signs on their desks saying "The buck stops there!"

And according to new reporting, councils have been spending the pot hole fund on things other than pot holes.

Oh dear, that's not good.

I cannot say I'm surprised, though...

It's due to the wording of the funding, it doesn't specify that it cannot be spent elsewhere, so they've been taking advantage of that fact.

Typical politicians, on both sides - each making sure the other can do what they want without any comebacks!!!

It's how it's always done, not much we can do about it, as they have no shame!

Also, 17900 snipe 😁 😉
