I was up just around the corner from Dumfries on the shores of Loch Ken, several disused stations around me, though I had been to all of them in the years prior, so there wasn't much in way of new explores! However during one of the land activities I was doing, mountain biking, I managed to get the instructor to go a different route than normal, to Lochskerrow railway station, on one of Dr Beeching's favourite lines, he called it the "Paddy Railway", so promtply added it to his list! As we were biking it and were on a tight time-limit, wasn't able to spend much time there and I didn't have my phone on me, so no fresh pics and I wasn't able to take any mementos 😭

Sounds like you had an interesting time there.

My next mission is imminent, but in the opposite direction, and this trip is also running some 40 months late.  Originally planned for April 2020, but repeatedly delayed by the "minor virus incident".

My main target on this mission is to get the haulage on something numbered Z20897, it being the last of the relevant class that I need for haulage...

40 months? That's a delay 'n' a half! Good luck in your mission!

I always have an interesting time there, most of the week is spent windsurfing, kayaking, climbing, sailing, biking etc, but on the days off, I go station trekking.... Loch Skerrow railway station being the most isolated I've been to! Here is a pic of it, a year after its closure as a station, now just as a halt to refill a train's water tank:

My mission is for 5 days / 4 nights and I have a source of information in place so I should be able to recover some of the lost ground in terms of tracking down trains I need for a ride; there's certainly no way I can spend enough time over there to fully recover the loss of three years missions ( = three of these five day trips ) but knowing what is where should at least double the effectiveness of this one...
