Tis OK, I'm after the 20000 snipe now 😉

Not surprised he wasn't too impressed, twice in as many lessons, on the same bank, tut tut!

...and he was an actual retired Royal Navy Commodore as well....

How old was he, 64?

Oh... I have no idea.... certainly at least in his 60s.

Don't tell me you're about to say you knew the man?  Well... let's see... this would have been about 1982 / 1983 and it was the BSTC at Theale near Reading.

Heh, no, that was a computer geek in joke! Commodore 64!

D'oh...... Yes, indeed.Smiley LOL

I never used one of those; had the ZX and Spectrum at home, though, and at school it was the BBC Micro.  My first proper home computer was an IBM AT; since then I've only ever used custom builds.

Me neither, I had the Commodore 16, but that number didn't fit in with the retirement age bit, afterwards, it was the SEGA Master System II, SEGA Game Gear, SEGA Mega Drive, SEGA Saturn, SEGA Dreamcast, Game Cube (pointless), XBox, then finally XBox360, though I mainly use my SEGA consoles, the newer machines and games just don't float my surfboard 😄

I don't really get time to play games on the computer, although I do give Pinball a go every so often.  My high scores are not very impressive - the most I have ever managed was in the region of 15 million points.

Not bad, I get bored whenever I play pinball, so my score is only ever in the thousands, as I just let the ball drop.

Slither.io hooked me for a while

cke - I know someone who has played the computer Pinball "round the clock" on two separate occasions.  Yes, that means what it sounds like.  When it gets to a billion points, it goes back to zero and he's done it at least twice.

More than likely! I remember staying awake from very early Sunday morning, to late afternoon Friday, getting my final year's university project  done, my eyes were super wide too.

Anyway, got an unfortunate surprise when I came in to work today, my colleague informed me that our website had been hacked Smiley Surprised Not something I wanted to hear, but our webmaster is on the case, though still a shock and an annoyance, as now I only have a limited amount of work I can do today, so the day is going to be very, very, very, VERY boring indeed Smiley Mad Smiley Sad

Looks like you have won cke as even peter has given up.

No such luck; I simply haven't had internet access for a few days....  I'm back now! Smiley Tongue

As for the pinball.... it wasn't all in one session; he played a bit at a time over several weeks.

....several........weeks............... not as an impressive high-score then Smiley Indifferent

Oh I don't know...... it was still over the billion point mark wasn't it?  With several hours of play a day.

If it was done all in one go, it most definitely would be impressive, even I could get over a billion if I did it over the course of several weeks.

I'd settle for being able to get all my top five scores above 10 million right now....

Very true, getting to 1mil would be a win for me, but I don't intend to bother!

Anyway, even though it's going to be wet tomorrow, I'll be out on a drive through Snowdonia with a car club I'm with... I'm hopeful it will brighten up, but if it doesn't, oh well!
