Next time you are on a run cke and have the time this might be worth a visit.

Nice looking place, I'll have to give it a look one day,

I actually went up to Ayr one day, so I will have gone through Dalmellington, didn't stop though, I had things to do, places to go, and whilst in Ayr, nylon waterproofing spray to buy 😉

waterproofing spray in Scotland cke !!!!!!  Smiley Surprised  Never been known to be needed, must have been really old stock  Smiley LOL

You would have passed the turn off to this on your way to Ayr, just before you reach Dalmellington from Castle Douglas cke

This is where I went fishing as a lad.

Hmmm.

The sky has fallen in.

no peter that was just nightfall !

later on you will hear a loud crack when daybreaks.

Don't know about that, but there was certainly a loud crack from the thunder overhead earlier.

Literally.

No delay at all between the lightning and the thunder!

️ was an omen

💥

Here is the rain which accompanied that thunderstorm!

Here is the second picture of the rain in question.

Indeed I did, it was a fair way from the main road, so I never saw it up close. I may take a trip to the castle there if I'm ever down that way again!

There's no stone circle monuments near there is there?

cke - if that's the Dalmellington I think it is, there is a stone circle there, with seven stones, but it's not prehistoric - it was put up in 1999.

Loch Doon Castle, Craigmalloch.

Would have been nice for the stones to have prehistoric, new isn't very interesting, but that said, can always go have a butchers!

cke, here is a website that might be of interest to you.

Well, cke, at least they look old with all that moss etc growing on them.  They do "look right", which is something.

Nice linkage D_C, thanks 🙂

One of those two photos I took of the heavy rain last weekend has been printed in our local paper. Smiley Happy

Good going!

My photo was accepted as one of several for the Free Nazanin campaign: https://www.facebook.com/864780913667531/photos/a.865509966927959.1073741829.864780913667531/8945666... (mine's the infinite 3 candle illusion, centre-bottom)

By the way, cke, I just noticed you had the "reversi" snipe the other day!

Just wondering if we could create a "Doonie" - cousin to "Nessie".... Smiley Wink
