It was a first quarter Moon, Mooma - you can't actually see a New Moon ( too close to the Sun ) although you can see a very thin crescent about a day and a half after New Moon.

Out on the trains again; quite good results today in terms of haulages, plus a productive meeting with ATOC ( Google it... I'm too lazy to explain it! ) discussing a proposed charity "spectacular" stunt for autumn 2014.
Leo, if it gets signed off - which would be around February when the details of next summer's timetable will be known* - you'll know about it; they will start publicising it almost immediately and it's a big enough charity stunt that there would be a lot of coverage while it is actually taking place. The whole thing will take the best part of a week to do...!!
*The whole thing depends on if the timetable will realistically allow it to go ahead; if there is too high a chance of failure at any point of it then it will be too high a risk, PR wise, to proceed with it.
That's not a misprint, Momma, but it took me ages to get to sleep and then I woke up at around 04.00 and couldn't get back to sleep again so if anything I ended up getting less sleep than normal...
Now, I didn't think this was possible but a certain idiot managed to blow up her slow cooker today, knocking all the downstairs power off for two hours without realising it... Somebody please tell me what on Earth it was I did in a past life to get this?!?!?
Heavy day in the shops today and I've gone rather over budget - I think I only have about £200 available ( after taking into account tax credits due in and direct debits due out ) until the end of the month now...!!
On the plus side, I managed to find a painting board of the right size to fit an empty frame that has been here for a year following a measurement error last year which resulted in an incorrectly sized frame being bought; I will use this board for my next painting. It'll be a landscape and I hope to start sketching the outline in the next few days.
