Yes momma, I have seen a few this month; two on Monday night, one on Tuesday night, four on Wednesday night and three last night - there are no major meteor showers this month though, unfortunately, but September is the best month for random meteors ( which are called "sporadic" meteors ).

Never seem to see them here  Too cloudy...

Momma, you must get at least some clear nights?   It would need to be a moonless night, though, and in most cases the best chances are after midnight ( due to the mechanics of orbits and the rotation of the Earth ) although really as soon as it is dark you have a chance.

You're not in the middle of a big town are you?  The light pollution can make it more difficult.

Managed two hours of observing ( no meteors but 13 satellites! ) and still managed to get to bed before midnight...!!
