Jewellery worth more than $1m has been stolen from a Cannes hotel.
The jewels, which were intended for loan to stars to wear while walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, were all made by Swiss luxury jeweller Chopard, police said.
Thieves broke into the room of a Chopard employee, opened a safe and made off with the jewels, they said.
The robbery took place at the Novotel hotel in the centre of Cannes.
No spokesman for Chopard was available for comment when contacted by Sky News.
Chopard has been an official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival for 16 years.
Cindy Crawford wore Chopard jewellery at the Cannes opening ceremony
Last year the jeweller’s ambassadors at the festival included Eva Herzigova, Jessica Chastain, Reese Witherspoon and Marion Cotillard.
This year, Julianne Moore, Cindy Crawford and Cara Delevingne were all spotted at the opening ceremony wearing Chopard jewellery.

Good job Sharon Osborn wasn't there with the stash of gems she borrows on loan, crikey the thieves would of had a field day.
If this happened in Dubai and they got caught they'd have their hand cut off

So if it was jewellery worth £1,000,000 the thieves will get about 10p in the pound when they try to sell them...
So... £100,000......
Ignore anything under this ^^^^^ line... It's just my signature....
