Does anyone know much about mobility scooters?
Got a bit of a problem, I need to know whether it is a big job to fix or not.
I have a second hand scooter I was wanting to sell on as OH has just bought a new one.
The battery is fine and power going to machine all showing fully charged, it worked fine yesterday then today a prospective buyer took if for a ride and it just stopped.
We have had a look at it and established that the disengage mechanism seems to be causing a problem and the green light that usually shows continuous if all ok is now flashing which is telling us there is a fault.
Is there anyone that maybe able to give us some clues about it. many thanks.

Have you checked that the battery is connected properly, no loose wires.
Something similar happened with mine, it was something to do with the wiring.
It cost me £60 to get it fixed, it may cost more if it's taken to a mobility shop.

Hi margaret, ![]()
We have check the battery, it is fully charged and is powering the machine ok, we double checked all was connected properly as it is a car boot one.
It just seems as though there is something wrong with putting it in and out of gear.
I'm going to try cleaning it all tomorrow where the lever etc fits to the motor and see it that helps otherwise I think we will have to get it looked at.

This link might be worth a read and I would also Google the model you have and search for a similar problem and that might bear fruit.

Have you tried the reset button.
Mine is just under the seat, but it could be anywhere on the scooter.
If you can find it, try it, then see if green light has stopped flashing.
Also, ensure that the freewheel lever (usually yellow) is pushed well into the drive position.
If not fully home, going over a small bump can knock it into freewheel, and scooter will stop

Just saying thanks to everyone,
Scooter didn't respond to my limited dabbling into the motor, I tried all that was suggested and it hasn't helped, the scooter is still giving a flashing signal for fault so I'm going to have to have it looked at by a proper person lol xxx
Thank you all though most appreciated.

Did you mean this one in particular petal?
https://martinmobility.com/mobilityscootertroubleshooting.htm
OP - I guess you have googled the make of the scooter to see if there is a downloadable manual with a troubleshooting section?

I realise that petal.
My suggestion was to the OP formerly BS, now little miss gullible. She will know the make and there are sometimes manuals online with a troubleshooting page.
How are you doing petal? Still making the little figures?

Thank you both, I have googled the troubleshooting, its a CTM. Which is no longer made.
The code I have established means 5 flashes - disengage lever fault.
I have checked all wiring, cleaned all terminals and connections, lubricated the lever itself and found I personally cant get into the motor without taking all kinds of bits off. So as im not a qualified mechanic I can't do any more, so its time unfortunately to spend some money, just to sell it on grrrrrrr.
