When I had a "career assesment" in last year of high school, my choices were:[
1. Noviate to be trained as a nun.
2. Nursing
3. Shorthand/Typist (coz me father SAID so!)
The first 2 meant that I could live away from my father, and would be housed elsewhere HE WAS A CONTROL FREAK.
However, the Assessors decided I should be trained as "a highly skilled secretarial person".
Booger! couldn't get away from home, but managed to make a good living as a book-keeper,.
Being a typical Gemini, that got to be boring, so every year on Annual Leave, I would change careers and become a Pharmacy Dispensary Assistant.
However, nothing prepared me for changing neighbour's colostomy bag.
aaaarrrggghhhhhh!

book keeping job? Do you ever wonder what or where you
would be today had you moved away from home? 🙂
You know how I overcame that thought of it being a
colostomy bag? I put myself in the persons shoes. :-D

I found book-keeping and pharmacy assistant stood me in good stead with all th changes of husbands/locations in Oz.
Even now, I help peeps out with their pension entitelments and all the paperwork that goes with it.
Even having experience with prescriptions make it easier for me to help the "oldies" here.
Gonna head for bed shortly darl...have been on the go 24/7 this past week...am really tired.
