Good question.
Don't know what's wrong with people.
IF it's true, I have a great deal of admiration for the victims, it takes a lot of guts to come forward in these type of cases. It's hard enough for women to come forward, but even harder for men.
IF it's false, I feel sorry for him, becuase whatever happens, it will be a case of mud sticks, and the homophobe contingent will revel in it

I'd be a bit more concerned about Stephen Pound MP - 5th photo down.

5th photo down? The 5th photo is of a stream?
You mean the last two pics surely or have they changed the page since you looked at it?

No, it wasn't the Greeks, although it sounds as though it could have been.
It was Lord Acton (19th C British Historian) who said:-
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Great men are almost always bad men."

So they have!!!
And 5th photo is now of a man on his knees, rummaging behind someone's boot!
(WHAT is newsworthy about a stream???) ?:|
So, if we keep on counting, as it stands now, it's the 11th photo down!!

Thank you, lhasa.one!! That was very interesting!!! Lord Acton appears to have been extremely perceptive.
Here's a technical question - will this individual continue with his duties as Deputy Speaker until such time as a trial takes place? Innocent until proven guilty, and all of that... Or will Parliament immediately replace him? I am unfamiliar with the mechanisms they would use.

He is returning to Parliament to continue with his duties as he is still a sitting MP
He has only been arrested, and bailed until mid June, on suspicion of the alleged charges.
So unless or until he is formerly charged with the offences, tried and found guilty, he is free to continue his work and life.
I don't think this has changed yet:
At present, MPs are disqualified from Parliament only if they are sentenced to a prison term of more than 12 months.
There were plans to strip convicted MPs of more than their seat in Parliament for other, non-custodial sentences and for constituents to sack their MPs for any conviction.

"...will this individual continue with his duties as Deputy Speaker until such time as a trial takes place? "
Deputy Speaker Evans said he was having "just a few days off chair duty" but would continue having his regular meetings with Commons Speaker John Bercow.

Did Lord Acton have any other precepts, by any chance? His insight might be particularly useful right now.....

Thank you lhasa.one! That gentleman was truly impressive! But I fear that it is all in vain - being logical, nobody will listen to him....
(And for what it's worth our politicians over here on this side of the pond are just as bad, if not worse.... I believe it's the strange chemicals in our tap water....)

Deputy Speaker will apparently not be doing his stint as DS whilst the investigations are ongoing.
