I'm sure they tried Homeopathic treatment for the plague as well didn't do them much good either, I believe they tried to ward off the disease by carrying an orange with cloves in it & pomanders as well, if there is a natural remedy I'm sure the indigenous people of the affected areas would have found it as it's been around for as long as they have relied on the local game to live on way before it was being smuggled into other countries, the Monkey & other game are well known carriers of numerous diseases that can & are transmitted to humans, but especially the apes!.i'm afraid Genetic similarities are not the only thing we share.

I find it incredible that there are those who actually believe such nonsense, it's really quite scary.

My sister-in-law is something of a sceptic, and unlike me, has a science background.

 

I was in need of sleep prior to a flight. (I could never sleep before a flight.) She offered me homeopathic pills. I laughed. She laughed. And suggested I go for it.

 

One was supposed to take so many x hours before going to bed, and so many on going to bed. What the heck - harmless lumps of chalk.

 

I slept like a baby.

 

One shouldn't underrate the placebo effect, I suppose (and I suspect the little ritual involved in taking tablets so many hours before actually trying to sleep  probably helped.)

In fairness homeopathic treatments do have a place, many Drs are actually backing some treatments in conjunction with modern medicines but for something as serious as the EBola disease I don't give much for anyone's chances using it.saying that if it gives comfort then what the heck!.
Even now some of our most powerful& effective drugs are derived from plants, it's the home made ones that can be dangerous as the dosage is very difficult to establish.& that also applies to ointments & creams.

If all else fails, you could always Pray...............it never gets any results, but seems to make a lot of people feel better.

I actually agree with that but I was just trying to be fair! lol.

He was right! & even now some of the medicines used by indigenous people are being researched for that very reason.

Saasher.....homeopathic treatments do have a place,I believe in it ..Irene is going through the Menopause and our Doctor told us the Drugs that people take can cause Cancer..So he put her on FLAVIA which is a herbal drug and it seems to be working well for her..

I believe he is right,,as everyday they find new cures for ills..

I don't disagree with homeopathic medicines Tommy, but with something as deadly as this virus is, no one has come up with anything. ,apart from a vaccine which has now run out, the indigenous people have lived with this virus because of their bush meat eating habits ie Monkeys, why all of a sudden has it become an epidemic would be the question I would ask.
