Yes, certainly would give the takers ( who treated society with such merciless contempt ) a chance to put something back into it.

For all those who feel their emotions boiling over, try contacting S.H.A.C. (Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty) They organise demonstrations and stuff like that. They found out that the international insurance brokers I worked for covered the Huntington experimental unit on the insurance side. They then found out where the chairman lived and visited him in the early hours of Sunday morning - 2a.m.!! and announced over a p.a.system what they thought of the set up! This was followed by a couple of visits to our company where the got into the building - so much for security!. It certainly livened things up!
There were, in fact, internal sympathisers within in the company. In the end, Huntington Life had to go elsewhere for their insurance! They won - against against a multi million pound concerm
I'd never even heard of them until then ![]()

If you do then just an unbiased point I'd like to make most of us have or are going to take medicines at some point in our lives some will be diagnosed with a disease that the researchers are still working on many of those will now have a cure because of that research,
Other methods other than animals are being used as well. The original post is for cosmetic trials not for saving lives!
We don't have to use cosmetics we do need to find cures for diseases & safety in the treatments!

S.H.A.C. stands for exactly that: Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty. It is run by a group of fanatics who are singlemindedly determined to shut down Huntington Life Sciences, claiming that every eight seconds an animal dies unnecessarily and in pain at the hands of those who experiment on the animals. They claim dogs are forced to smoke for the tobacco industry, rabbits are used to test shampoo - if the rabbit goes blind it is too strong which would save companies like Vosene paying out millions in compensation et al. Their literature and photographs are designed to sicken and revile girls (as they put on their eye shadow and shampoo their hair). Many - especially girls in their early twenties, cry when they see what goes on behind closed doors. They're meant to - it's all part of the package.
But where the hell would we be if it wasn't for medical research trying to better our lives. If you've got a headache, you'll take an aspirin. A woman having a baby will have an epidural - my mother went with the "Big C" back in1973. The drugs she used gave her a meaningful life for six of her seven final years. The biggest daddy of them all - Penicillin. My God, how many zillions of lives have been saved? How many animals died to make it happen? There is not one single item that has not been tested before it's come on to the open market. SHAC do not tell you why these animals are being tested: only the most emotive photos will be handed out to free the tear ducts. By closing down Huntington Life Sciences they could be putting back medical advancements years.
Cosmetics - now that's a different thing if the end result is for vanity reasons. Lipstick, shampoo, hair spray. Then again, even a bar of soap has to be cleared as safe. It's too emotive a subject to get dawn in to. Many of the protesters are genuine, although slightly naive, but many are there purely for the aggro aimed at the police.

I don't use cosmetics, but would want them to be tested NOT on animals if I did, however how many of us would refuse medical treatment for ourselves or our loved ones because of animal testing if that treatment would bring about a cure or relief for the medical condition? It's easy to take the high moral ground when it just involves attending demonstrations etc. bit different when you are watching loved ones suffering.

A few years ago my partner and many other women used to go along to Proctor & Gamble to test their products, dipping their hands in various liquids etc,at the end of the trials they all got a few quid for their bother, she never suffered any affects from this,I wonder if they still run these tests?
