Does anyone fancy driving up the Wrynose and Hardknott passes in the Lake District.

They are steep and twisty and windy, and in some places there are sheer drops.

I haven`t tried driving it, but I have been a passenger  in a car driven by a friend who is a first class driver, but you wouldn`t think so by the look on the face on the person in the back seat.

I've been on those several times.

A friend has a glass floor over a mill-race under her house...even thats a bit disconcerting for some people, she has to keep a rug covering the glass as some fplks won`t walk over it and that`s the way into her house.

... I  and some friends used to climb castle ruins, just to get the old juices flowing 🙂

Thanks for all these, I'm adding them to my bucket list.  I'm going to the Lake District for the first time in February, so I might try that drive (although I'm guessing that in Feb. the weather won't be good enough).

There's a glass platform at the top of the CN Tower in Toronto, which I sat on.  I practised by using the glass floor in the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth (I've danced salsa on that!).  I used to be terrified of the combination of glass and heights, but as I get older, I've become bolder.  The exhilaration makes it worth while.  That one in the Alps is really amazing.

OOh now that looks as though it might get  the old juices flowing all right... a bit hairy at the gaps though...

That Glass one in Madeira on Y****E is amazing,,, i might be able to do that. Do not think i would want to go out on to this bridge step pass!!!!.

I remember seeing an experiment done with babies who had just learned to crawl, and they point-blank would not go over a glassed area with a drop beneath, however much encouragement they were given.  Apparently, it is inbuilt within us not to take this kind of risk.

I think I would, I went on the Spinnaker Tower glass floor with no problem, but that cube is a heck of a lot higher!

I love those swimming pool ones, I'd go in those.

Oh, and I'd definately drive over the Lake District Passes and have done a couple of times.
