Good Evening Charlie...:-x

I remember you saying that you liked him. Nice one you chose too.

I'm fine, thank you, and hope you are.

Had an interesting couple of hours today messing about with the project you set me. I also looked up your star sign to see if there might be anything interesting.

I was quite amused at some of the things I read...:-)

Hello B&C :-x

I shall pop in before you get going!
Am chuffed cos I bought myself a Christmas pressie today :-D. A Sony Viao all-in-one desktop - very sleek looking. It's really for work as I need a proper desktop and so I don't feel too guilty buying things to help my work.  I always have qualms buying stuff for me, although gord knows I have worked hard all my life, but I'm chuffed I was brave enough to part with the spondoolis instead of coming home to think about it....and then get snowed in!!! ;\

Evening Suzie :-x

That's great about the computer - can be a bit daunting getting  a new one, can't it?  Well, the next thing is to get it all connected up NOW  or tomorrow - otherwise if you're like me, it will sit in the box for a week or three, waiting for a convenient time to do it! :_| :^O

Btw, thanks for the video - I've been looking for that one!

CG

No not yet bill - it's still in it's box. Didn't get back until 9pm and I will have to sort out an area I'm going to have for an office - my Christmas project 😄

All that we are is what we have thought.

You've got a project too then...? :^O

You will soon be graphicating gifs all over the place :^O

Are you going to set it up yourself?

Can I just ask you two a quick Q? I have a licence for Microsoft Office Professional which I got at a good price when I had an academic email address. I would hope that if you cease to use one computer, you can install it on a new one (as it would be a bummer if your computer broke say 2 months after buying a licence). Do you know if you can? For e.g. if you uninstall it off the original computer can they tell you have done that so you can use the activation code again?

Glad you liked that Xmas vid Charlie - I do!

I hope so ...is it difficult? You have me worried now!!

I'm sure I set up my current laptop without help, and I had never done it before as we were never allowed to touch our computers (other than use them of course) at work.

But now I'm having a wee panic. My broadband box thingummyjig is in my living room where the phone is, and my office is gonna be on the second floor - I hope that the broadband signal will reach to the top of the house or I'll be crying :_|.

All that we are is what we have thought.

Suzie: That's a difficult one to answer. Below is a link which might offer you some advice.

Microsoft have a very protective attitude relating to their products so I suggest you have a good read. I will try to find some more info if I can...

Well, I've managed to do that Suzie....as long as you've still got the licence, all the authorisation and codes it should be transferable to another PC. You've paid for it so it should still be registered to you and therefore capable of being used on your PC.

CG

No, don't do that!

Too late...

I said "no input" remember?

I'm not asking for any input - in fact I didn't even get a chance to say anything before you leapt out of your pram...X-(

Coo...! blessed designers

We are blessed - until we're cursed...:-p

You are going to be hard work tonight, aren't you...?:-D

Anyway, I might let you see the amusing things I found when you've had you're milk and cheered up...:^O

*kids eh?* :^O

Most modern computers Suzie more or less set themselves up. Just follow the Quick Start guide (ther's usually one)  and let it do it's stuff.

On the broadband I can't see why that should be a problem - mine is shared with some neighbours and they're a few houses down the road...:-)
