Keeps saying app update!! Help.

Hi everyone.on my tablet I go on Ebay UK and I have an offer from a seller but when I try to open it it just says app needs updating.i have auto updates but it keeps showing it everytime i try so I dont get it.Any ideas!!

It would be marginally better if the message said something like. "Buy another phone we have stopped it working on yours." Rather than this meery go round.

I'm having similar problems. Ebay emailed me claiming i owe money for an item a buyer i had to refund as their address was faulty and i couldn't post it. All this time later ebay are asking me for money i thought they'd already taken. Can't do anything about it as the app won't open, keeps saying update, i uninstalled, reinstalled, still the same. Tried phoning but it's a bot that can't help. Tried emailing but get delivery failure notice. It's really stressing me out. Don't know what to do. Don't have a computer, only this phone. If i ever get back into ebay I'll delete my account forever! Life's too short for this *bleep*e

It would be interesting to see how 'New' changes will go down with the US folks - Buyers Paying a 'protection fee', Sellers funds held up to 14 days, oh and 'Simple Postage'  - kinda a warning for them of the joys to come for them.

I am a little miffed by this app degradation thing.

As it’s been said many younger buyers are tuned into Vinted, I’m guessing the age demographic on eBay is more mature, what goes with that is users that don’t need - or want - shiny new devices every 18 months. Pushing core users away…

It's not just you. I am relatively young, but don't see a reason to change my phone if my old is still working. I used a flip phone till around 2017 and then I bought a smartphone, not that smart as we can see😅 I don't like this updates either as it's not just ebay app. Recently Ryanair updated theirs and I assume that some shops as well as they stopped working on my phone even thought I updated them, restarted the phone etc. I don't like it. It makes very difficult now to get a notification about sales. Only thing I could do is to switch my e-mail notification back and now I get a ping every second, but at least I won't miss a sale on ebay. I miss the 'ka-ching' thought.

Looks like Vinted in UK. We don't get paid om Vinted untill buyer says it's ok after delivery. If they won't it's 48hrs wait. Plus add posting time and if it gets delivered to a pick up point even worse cause the time we get money extends... 

On the other hand ebay in UK also changed how we get paid. For private sellers we get paid when item gets delivered so I worked on all my listings and changed all to tracked postage. On some items cost drastically went up( all large letters were £1.55 second class, now £2.70). There are good and bad sides of it.

Isn't it a form of discrimination against us eBayers who don't have the latest phone/technology? for whatever reason.

I am in my 30s, I use an old Sony Xperia running on android 9 but I love it! best phone I have owned. I will only replace it when it dies.

I see the american ebayers are waking up to the changes, maybe Trump could put a stop to this madness? Lol. I can't imagine how many people this is going to frustrate worldwide

Ebay strike again. Hey! Just buy a new phone OK? If they can mess it up they will.....and blame it on a need to increase security but I have several credit card and banking apps on the same phone that ebay are now telling me isn't worthy. Pathetic service.

I'm the same. Rely on my phone for eBay and keeping track of what I am selling.  Looks like I'll have to go selling on Vinted now.  

Really pees me off absolutly nothing wrong with my phone why should I have to change it?   
It won't be happening.  I hope eBay reads these messages and does something about it with the Android people - doubt it.

Feel for you I have same problem, also a lot of stock sitting unable to sell
