Keeps saying app update!! Help.

Hi everyone.on my tablet I go on Ebay UK and I have an offer from a seller but when I try to open it it just says app needs updating.i have auto updates but it keeps showing it everytime i try so I dont get it.Any ideas!!

It has to do with your own phone update rather than the app. Once you have the latest phone system update it will also update the app store and give you the Ebay app you require.

My android, a Samsung Galaxy is up to date Android 9 is the latest version.
The ebay app requires android 10 or above.
So I wont be changing my device.
Every other app I have is fine.
If ebay decides to do this, that's their problem. I wont use the Ebay app.
or their service. I've been disillusioned with them for a while, Probably
like hundreds of thousands of other users.
Amazon havnt created this problem, but then again in my opinion Amazon are
streets ahead in customer support/ care and clearly shows the quality and
customer care difference between the two sellers...

So annoying because the web browser does not have the camera function to search. Cant scan in books or games to see how much they sell for. Also cant quickly take a picture to see sold listings so its harder to work out if your getting ripped off by a car boot seller or charity shops.

Been using ebay since 2008. Not upgrading a phone just to use the app its so ridiculous.

Ebay are not in the least bit interested in solving problem. Have emailed them at least 6 times , no reply has been forth coming. Sellers must be losing money all because some dimwit didnt do his/her homework properly. No way am I buying a new phone just to get Ebay app

Same phone same problem and Ebay not interested. Message received from them. A new device is being used to access account. Absolute rubbish been using this phone for at least 2 years. Their software needs a good refurbishment Sent from my Galaxy

As some else said, Ebay don't care...someone has produced a junk app, and
I'm certainly not changing my device. I'll buy off Amazon from now on, or
gumtree etc. Plenty more to choose from...Ill advise all my sellers what
the problem is and when they realise people wont use the app they will get
onto eBay and create a wave of discontent then Ebay might do something. But
it's a *bleep* web site anyway. Clunky, not user-friendly. I won't miss it and
I've used it since 2008...their loss not mine..

I had the "update" issue but uninstalling the eBay app and going through my Google browser works fine. Still gets me all my pages, but you just won't have the eBay app logo in the phone apps list. Cheaper than upgrading for Android 10 though. But I'm going to deduct points from eBay for this move after an otherwise FAB service for nineteen years b

Further to my posts on pages 1 and 2 trying to help with the issue, as annoyed as I am about the update problem, I would just like to say a quick thanks to ebay for helping to improve my quality of sleep!!! 🤣😴😴😴

After being with them since 2002 and using the app every day (since it was available) first and last thing, I've finally been forced to break the bad habit of screen time before bed, so thanks ebay!!! 🤣🤣🤣😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

Hi I was having the same problem. It terns out my card had runout. So I had to put in my new bank card information. That was the update they wonted. All works ok now .😁

Hi,  it could be Ebay is looking for a card update. Then again if your phone operates on Android 9 it's no longer supported by Ebay and/or your phones manufacturer, particularly Samsung. You need Andriod 10 or above for the Ebay app to work properly

Yup mine gave up as well. But and this i think is quite telling, all the other buying apps i have on older devices still work fine. Ebay are presumably as tech savvy as Amazon? Amazon works so why not Ebay. As my OS will not update to 16 i'm stuffed. I wonder what ebay revenue will be lost over this

Since I have been unable to use the app due to ebay's decision to abandon
people from using it I have hardly been on the ebay website. I have used
Amazon more and even placed my first Temu 'local' order which was delivered
and cheaper than ebay.
