tommy, in the early 70s I used to drink in the L & Y on the main street in Larne. Did not drink in Belfast but did in Larne, Bangor and Carrick.

We docked in those places as well as Derry.

I remember Kellys, a red, white and blue stripes on a black funnel and usually named Bally something. I was on the container ship Moyle running into Larne then went with the Saint boats like the old Saint Bridget etc before moving on.

Was not keen on the Saint Bridget Tommy as those hatchboards and tarps were a pain in the rain and that midship wheelhouse in heavy weather was fun getting to from aft accommodation.
