Wear a Mask.

Why I am wearing a mask -

🔵 I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus.
🔵 No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
🔵 I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me” any more than when I wear a seat belt, don't drink and drive, obey the speed limit, or stop at a red light.
🔵 The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort.
🔵 If we all followed these simple steps - wash your hands, maintain a social distance and wear a face mask, the virus could be under control, and businesses back open.
🔵 Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even “controlled.” It makes me considerate.
🔵 Rather than thinking about yourself - how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others may think of you; instead just imagine someone close to you - your child, your father, your mother, your aunt, your uncle, your grandparent - choking on a respirator, alone without you or any family member allowed at their bedside...

Can you do the same?
Wearing a mask is NOT political. It’s supporting public health!

“If we all wash hands, maintain a social distance and wear a mask businesses would be open.” How does this work with concert venues, cinemas, theatres, sports arenas buses, trains and tubes?

Wear a Mask.

The point about masks, lambsy, is that they help to protect other people from droplets resulting from you coughing, sneezing, talking and breathing over them, more than for your protection.

You say elsewhere that people should stay away from you. Well how are they going to be sure that you haven't breathed, coughed etc on an item in a supermarket.?

I think it is quite understandable that many people think that those who won't wear a mask because they don't like to be told what to do, are selfish. What is the big deal about wearing a mask in a shop or supermarket? Its just a few minutes that can help to protect those around you.

Neither do I have patience with those who think it is a world conspiracy to microchip us via a vaccine, and become evangelical about it. Not saying that anyone on here is doing that but I am aware of local people who spout utter nonsense to anyone they can get to listen. The same people use smartphones that 'know' exactly where they are and gather information about them but they don't seem bothered about that.

Its funny how the conspiracy theorists and the anti-maskers change their view when they get really sick with covid. Plenty of examples of them to be found on the net.

Just because they don't happen to know anyone who has died yet, doesn't mean that it isn't a very serious virus for those whose immune systems react poorly or badly to it.
All that we are is what we have thought.

Quite right, it certainly does seem to be a serious illness for those whose immune systems react poorly to it and I too have no time for daft conspiracy theories. However I don’t believe we/government have handled this in the best way so I’m very sceptical about the measures they are taking and very angry about lives and livelihoods being unnecessarily ruined. I understand the reasoning behind mask wearing and therefore I either have good reason not to wear one or I’m an uncaring c&@t. I don’t care what people think of me so I’m happy for them to make their own minds up, I’m not going to be spending any time explaining myself.

If I have any health issues I shall seek help if and when required as I always do, which is thankfully very rarely.
