Twisted tale or twisted mind?

Just recently there's been a film made about "Flowers in the Attic" and trailers are running for it on Sky at the moment.

Now...... would you say that the writer had some sort of twisted mind to write such a thing? OK, OK, I know it's "only a story" but who would want to think about doing things as portrayed in the storyline let alone write about them?

I know that every now and again we see Real Life horrific tales of abusive behaviour but fiction along those lines is not something I want to read about or watch.

Before anyone says that the book sold millions so plenty of other people wanted to read about it, many millions of others didn't buy the book. Would you want to read it or watch the film adaptation?

If you have read it, what's your opinion?

Personally, I'd rather sit and watch (and listen) to this.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQOc_hgpyPE

I think I've read it Rose, was it about a brother & sister who were living in an attic, if so I read it years ago( a trilogy?)
I also thought it was a very strange but compelling read, & I also wonder what goes on in an authors mind ,vivid imagination to the extreme some might say a very damaged mind. On the other hand in true life things similar to this do go on & not that long ago either!.
As far as I know Rose it is only fiction.

Yes i thought it was Fiction but as you say in our world today things do go on. I must say im normal but i do have an interest in reading or watching programmes of real crime. It fascinates me. Not in a sick way or anything please dont think that.

Yes i found the books compelling,,,and none of the books that followed were as good.

Well done you !
Going back to the subject in hand, who on earth would want to make a film on such a depraved subject as this ?.from what I remember it was a pretty dark subject to read let alone see!.
