OK, in or out?

How about an RT poll?

No reasons, no argument, no debate just a straightforward IN or OUT.

Me? OUT.

Isn't it a basic EU rule that asylum seekers should apply for asylum in the first safe country that they arrive in? Well, they soon ditched that one when it suited them. And yet other basic rules are etched in stone and can't possibly be changed. Hypocrites.

No - ironically it is the EU that have tried to enforce that maxim _ in international law there is no requirement for someone wishing to claim asylum to do so in the first safe country they reach.

Another reason why leaving the EU would have the opposite effect on the number of asylum requests being made in the UK than many expect.

aye Creeky, i wouldnt be worried about the requests, its how they deal with them that bothers me- true asylem seekers have not been a bother to me, and dont i think pose a real threat to the stability of the uk, where as mass movement from poorer eu states will i believe continue to be a burden, and will only grow worse with time.

From the Brexit betting market:

73% of the total money being wagered is on "Remain"...

BUT-- over 70% of all individual bets have been for "Leave"...

That tallies with the view that all the establishment fat cats favour staying in the EU, while the general public favour out. The number of individuals favours Leave.

The rich elites trying to skew the odds to give the impression that "remain" is the inevitable result?

>> While the high-rollers fancy "Remain", the smaller money clients are overwhelmingly backing "Leave"...

It seems opinion polls have "Leave" leading. There's a few of them not just this one:-

Perhaps it's slowly beginning to dawn on those, that aren't so good with figures, that if you increase demand; without increasing infrastructure provisions, you're going to end up with problems. ie. ( to simplify it so it's easy to understand ). Without more Doctors, Nurses, Roads, Houses, Jobs, Schools etc. etc. more people using those things, means longer waiting to get......Doctors appointments, Operations, Houses, Jobs, to work ( if you've got a job........because roads will be busier ).  Those that can't see that simple fact, can't see........." Period " and I'm sick of talking to them already......with neary 2 weeks still left to go...." GROAN "!!!

From Sky News:-

The biggest margin is in Yorkshire and the Humber, where Leave have a 10-point lead - 49% to 39% - with 12% Undecided.

In the northeast, Leave are ahead 48% to 40%, with 12% Undecided.

In the East Midlands, Leave are ahead 47%, to 40%, with 13% Undecided - the same picture as in the Eastern region.

Figures from the West Midlands show Leave ahead on 48%, with 40% for Remain and 12 % Undecided.

In the southwest, Leave are on 45%, Remain on 42%, Undecided 13%.

It’s closer in the northwest, where Leave have 44%, Remain 43% and Undecided 13%.

In Wales, Leave are on 45 %, Remain have 42%, with 14% Undecided.

And in Northern Ireland Leave are one percent up, 45% to 44%, with 11% Undecided.

The figures show that in London and Scotland more than half of voters have said they would vote to remain in the EU.

There are closer races in the southeast of England, where Remain is 1% ahead.

I wouldn't set too much store by the polls if I were you. We all know how accurate they performed at the General Election.

Let's hope they're using a more up-to-date abacus this time, and their forecasts are more meticulous.

Big fat OUT

Seems even more perverse that the party 'in power' rather than stay neutral and give reasoning for both sides has come down heavily for remain. They promised the referendum to gain power then its like giving someone a sackful of sweets and saying eat all these and you will be permanently infirm and if that isnt enough to make you ill we will give you more....  The government has already threatened what they, in their power, will have to do to compensate/punish the people should they not toe the party line.

They bang on about the bad effect on the economy on leaving without considering the longer term effect on the economy of uncontrolled immigration. They do not live in communities changed beyond recognition where English is a 2nd or 3rd language.

As readers of this thread are well aware, I'm firmly for OUT but what I'm shocked by is the very poor strategy adopted by the remain campaigners. I expected much better from them and after the latest outpourings from Osborne, I think that would drive more people towards out.

Re: Brexit
in reply to evoman3957

So now today, the truth finally comes out and the hand of the remain campaign is shown. Osbourne comes out with an emergency budget, in case we vote to leave and it's backed by Cameron. So as they hold the power ( being the government of the day ) what they are saying is " if you vote to leave the EU......WE'LL MAKE YOU PAY ".  So, fear tactics have morphed into good old fashioned intimidation......obviously backed by the rest of their cronies. So, the once GREAT British people / nation are going to bow down to that, are they !! Well I know one who isn't.......I may have been battered over time, but at least I can still hold my head up, with some pride.

It's called 'clutching at straws', Evoman. Desperation is, as desperation does. If it wasn't so pathetically inane and puerile, it would be risible.

What an absolute buffoon that man is.

Well now, there's another boring week of waffling to go, after that we'll have the inquest whichever way it goes.

No matter what happens, I sincerely wish someone, somewhere, anywhere will do something about the non-productive so-called heads of business and heads of everything else getting so much money for so little. After that, they need to take a close look at overpaid and underworked leeches we find everywhere and get back to paying productive workers the proper rate for the job.

Years back, those actually making things, producing the goods or moving them were the cream of businesses and unproductive employees were paid far less for being allowed to come to "work" nice and clean and "dressed up". A return to that status is long overdue rather than regarding productive workers as some sort of lesser animal.

I hope OUT win the day and a first step on all the above can be taken in reducing eliminating the bureaucratic drain on our economy from the EU.

I see the Spanish don't like the idea of DC travelling to Gibraltar to campaign for "Remain"? Although the Spanish want Britain to stay in the EU (I bet they do!!), they seem to think any campaigning should be done on British soil.

If we come OUT, you can bet the Spanish/British argument over Gibraltar will hot up. Bring it on?

I remember when travelling Europe in the late 60s when the border was closed between Spain and Gibraltar at La Linea - I had to take the ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta then by land to Tangiers and a ferry to Gibraltar.  On arrival I couldn't prove I had enough cash to pay for a flight back to the UK and was refused entry despite having a British passport!
