OK, in or out?

How about an RT poll?

No reasons, no argument, no debate just a straightforward IN or OUT.

Me? OUT.

Re: OK, in or out?

I just watched youngsters in slovenia and trieste in Italy, they spoke great English, as do the Scandinavians, Dutch and many more in Europe. Our music is popular throughout, our inventions are still in place and our history is admired. Yes we could go it alone, be costly but why not? Well just think about it for a second, would you support an ally or a conservative isolationist claiming to be superior?

Re: OK, in or out?

. . . But would you want to live in Singapore?

Would you want to live in a virtual one party state without a free press and where healthcare is provided on the basis that no treatment at any level is offered free of charge - just for starters.

Re: OK, in or out?

ISOLATION??? BREXIT will expand our options not limit them... As to what can be achieved...that's up to us...you and me and everyone else...if you want the country to succeed and prosper you need to work at it.

No one is saying that OUT will be a panacea for all that is wrong in this country but it's a start! It will take 2 years to extricate ourselves from the EU and I doubt very much if we will see much difference for quite a while. Unfettered from the bureaucracy of the EU our first job must be to ensure the NHS can operate and perhaps set up a special department in the Home Office to handle JUST NHS and ancillary health organisations work permits. Alleviate that issue! its only a problem if you let it become one!

One thing that was discussed on the Politics Show last week was the fact that this could transform politics in this country from confrontational to cooperative....with Brexiters from all parties...what a golden opportunity to actually get a government that actually put country first and brought different ideas and workable solutions to the table... If that alone happened...it would be worthwhile!

we need to try...despite the gloom merchants on the a Remain side...who also can't find any GOOD to say about the institution they want YOU to stay in...what do you seriously think WILL happen??? Will trade stop?...NO...Will travel be difficult? ...NO (we didn't need visas etc before we joined the EU so why would we now?) Will prices go up...maybe...but maybe they will go down with VAT removed...will the ÂŁ dip...possibly in the short term but it's too high and makes us uncompetitive in the export market...so it might benefit a lot of businesses....a lower ÂŁ will make Britain a good place to invest.... Undoubtedly some will lose...some will gain...many won't notice much difference. Wages are likely to rise however. One thing is for certain ...we can hold our government to account...if they screw up you can vote them out!

65 million people cannot be ignored....ISOLATION....definitely NOT...there's a damn big world out there...lets go andtrade with it...not just the EU and their red tape. I bet Angela Merkel and François Hollande will be trying to head the queue to continue free trade with us! They have far too much to lose to stand on their high horses!

Re: OK, in or out?

Singapore is a far from perfect society but it's amazing economy was built up after it was flung out of Malaysia. It has a large number of migrants but they are high flyers. They are the trading and financial capital of the East. That's the elements we need to adopt. We have the big banking and financial institutions already here...we have good ports and airports..what we don't have is the very poor lower class and we do have a democracy. one interesting statistic...one in 6 families in Singapore have a millionaire in their midst. As to whether I would want to live there...there are a great number who already do...and love it...of course it depends on your circumstances! However, if we can mimic their economy...why would you want to live there...Britain will be VERY attractive!

Its exciting to think we could be free to go for it...the banks have actually been pretty quiet over this campaign...unlike the Scottish referendum. They have only showed relative lukewarm support for the government stance...no talk of jumping ship to Germany...that and the talk out of Asia makes me think that they see this as a great opportunity too! They don't want to openly oppose the government as they could be subjected to more regulation....does make you think.....

Re: OK, in or out?

So it's stick your neck out time! As we come to the vote in this Referendum, what do I feel the result will be?  Over the weeks that I have been following this saga, one thing has struck me in particular. While the talking heads on TV and in newspaper articles, and the opinion polls, seem to be almost cancelling each other out in rhetoric, argument and statistics, whenever I have turned to the online comments sections of newspapers and forums such as this one, where ordinary punters are discussing the pros and cons of the EU, I have found, as in this forum, that the clear majority favour Brexit - often, remarkably, even in editorially Remain leaning publications like the Daily Mirror and the Guardian, which I did not expect.

The only corner which seemed to be bucking this trend was the betting markets. I couldn't understand why the polls were so close, while the betting odds showed a clear lead for Remain. Until I came across a comment from a bookmaker's member of staff, who said that while huge individual wagers of money were being bet on Remain, the majority (70%) of average size bets (i.e. by the man in the street) were being placed on a Brexit result (at very attractive odds).  And it's the individual mass votes of the "man in the street" which decide referendums...

www.community.ebay.co.uk/in-or-out/4875950#M186390

I think that was when I came to the conclusion that the weight of individual votes by ordinary punters was going to Brexit. I feel that, as in the general election last year, there are a lot of "shy" voters who will vote against the "fashionable" and "correct" and "expert" and "respectable" option being handed down from above, and vote Brexit.  I therefore forecast that the result will be for Brexit - and it could be by a much larger margin than generally thought.  We shall see...

Re: OK, in or out?

A government that went against the will of the people would be instigating civil war! It's been discussed ...again on the politics show...and it WILL be ratified by parliament. It's procedural ...and should be viewed that way.

unlike the deal done by Cameron...that CAN be vetoed...and still might be. It only lasts for 12 years max anyway...although I thought it was only 7 years when it was first discussed. Not that there's much to veto....it was appalling...and if the threat of our leaving the EU could only produce THAT...what chance have we ever got of negotiating anything better if we vote Remain?

Very true, the UK buys 20% of all cars built in Germany or 820,000 units per year, and spends 6.8bn euros with them in total.

Do people honestly think that the Germans are going to tell us to do one because we're not in their little club, and would rather sell to the likes of Greece who buy 0.3% of their cars and spend a total of 360m euros.

We are the fifth biggest global economy, it might decline a little after we leave while in the transition period, but after this we will only get stronger when our hands aren't tied and bound by all this EU nonsense.

Actually, that would be UKIP. Again.

Fewer than half of all Ukip supporters would be prepared to accept a Jewish politician becoming prime minister, polling has revealed. Only 48 per cent of people intending to vote for the party agreed that a Jewish leader would be as acceptable as any other in Downing Street.

The research shows that among Liberal Democrat and Labour voters, 73 per cent and 72 per cent respectively said a Jewish prime minister would be as acceptable as any other. Among Conservative supporters 65 per cent agreed.

Re: OK, in or out?

rantFor FA rant

I've been to vote.... OUT. There were more people voting than for the General Election.

One old bloke I met said he wasn't voting, he said "it's for the young to vote, it's their World". Everyone else I spoke to was for OUT. However, when I was in Sainsburys I did overhear one lady making remarks about Boris.

Even the checkout lady was for OUT.
