How do others deal with the increasing use of mobile phones where the users seem only able to talk at screaming pitch ?? Need to know what is a good line to shut them up

I know what you mean but sorry, can't help with that. Haven't got one, never had one, and don't want one.
I don't like being disturbed by the phone when I'm at home - I certainly don't want to disturbed when I'm out.
Maybe I'm just anti social, but I like to actually meet up with my friends and family and have proper conversations face to face. I'm sure if I had a phone glued to my ear, or fingers twitching to text, I'd never see anyone.

There was a story in the media a few years ago of a flash young guy continously yelling down his phone on a packed commuter train. The train was full of office workers aching to get home after a hard day's work. One chap, fed up to the back teeth with this guy telling his wife where the train was every five minutes, got up, snatched his mobile phone, opened the window and threw it onto the track ~ then wrote him a cheque for a new one.

I always liked the story of the chap on Eurostar who had been annoying others with his loud conversations.
In one of them he was telling the other person what time he would be arriving so they could meet up but unfortunately had forgotten the one hour time difference.
Needless to say no one pointed out his error to him. ![]()

I have a mobile phone, just the same basic one I have had since 2007
It is rarely switched on, and £10 credit lasts over a year.
It is simply for emergencies, such as calling AA if I break down in the car.

Perhaps they only want to show off, by talking on their mobile phones in public.

Simples!!!!!!
You and a mate who's in on the act stand right next to the *bleep* and have a really loud conversationon some inane subject. When he stops talking, just say, "Mmmm, now you know what it feels like"
I've only done it twice. Last one was about 15 years or so ago. We got an apology both times.

I don't think people who talk loudly on mobile phones in public, are really annoying.
Rather, they make us realise, what complete prats some people are. And how we're so much better, and more intelligent, than them.

An embarrassing mobile moment.
One morning after my son went out down the town I spotted he'd left his mobile phone on the shelf in the hall. So I rang him straight away using my mobile. I almost cried when his mobile started to ring right in front of me!
